It's a shame we couldn't do it before and got left behind

Think we're starting to be well managed off the pitch now. Next it's time for people on the pitch to start delivering

It's a pity we had the Moores, H&G eras which didn't take us forward (Moores), then set us back many many years (H&G)

Think the underlying message in this whole thread is that time and patience is needed and we'll get to where we want to be, in the right way, which is the best way
Good post. I like FSG overall. The intentions are good even if the execution has not been that great.

Even with City's investment in their youth I think we can compete with them on that front with the right people in charge.
i agree, but it wont just be about access to city's first team, many other players will get exposure and a chance at other teams even if they dont make it at city.
their youth development academy will be like the fords production line.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Fall behind... compared to how amazingly successful we are right now?

Spurs for how brilliant their academy is supposed to be have brought through not many of note in a very long time. I might be wrong but I can't remember many

                No it won't.

They already have one of the most productive academies of recent times. The chances of them exceeding that are pretty remote imo.

Facilities aren't everything. All top clubs have top facilities anyway, so what.

Your kid is 14. He has promise. All the clubs in the north west want to sign him up. Where do you put him? Honestly?
                Oh I don't know.

Does anyone still have any faith in Rodgers to turn this around? I was thinking a couple of months ago that he seems to be a bit of a fraud, since then apart from the draw against City we've played some terrible football. I have backed off for a bit, but that game tonight is typical of our season and for me is further evidence that our manager is clueless.

From our current position I'd have to agree with you.

He'll get another season at least, and rightly so as we need stability.
