I'm thinking that Brendan is quite the politician. Acutely aware of everything he says and its impact on everything around him. Chooses his words very carefully, and has a first class delivery. The difference between him and most real politicians is that we believe what he says. But ultimately, as always in football, it'll come down to results. No European football at the end of next season, and quite probably no job for him either.

I just wonder how his predecessors would have handled the Suarez situation. Kenny, Bodge, Rafa, Houllier. It's intriguing in many ways.

I guess if Rafa was in charge, his man management skills would almost be called into question as much as Suarez's conduct.
    Oh I don't know.

I think if Rafa had talked like Brendan did last night about Suarez, people would be cheering him from the rafters. Quite rightly. Rafa was brilliant at defending the club and fighting our corner. But by the same token Brendan should be roundly applauded too and he isn't being. I get why he's not as popular as Rafa - he hasn't won us a European Cup for a start - but Rodgers' comments on Suarez last night were spot on and he's really growing into the job. I think it's time his naysayers started giving credit where it's due.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I took Dom to mean that perceptions that Benitez was bad at man-management meant that he'd have been blamed for some of Suárez's disenchantment.

It's much the same as Rodgers not getting enough credit for this because he's seen - unfairly I think - as an inexperienced psychobabbler who blagged himself a job his CV doesn't merit.

        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

          100% agree.

He's been brilliant during this whole Suarez saga.

Really liked how strong he came over in saying he would deal with it. No other talking and rubbish. Just dealing with it.

Its nice to see again after a few years of quite frankly little to no leadership.

There's a huge difference this year - he was almost a rabbit in headlights last year - almost not believing he was the LFC manager, this year he's a lot more assured, has more self belief & confident - no doubt entirely down to Susan Black...

We've the right man at the helm - I think we'll do well this season especially if we can get a couple of more first team quality players in
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Very very impressed with Rodgers throughout this whole episode but I can imagine he's more angry than anything with Suarez, clearly he feels hurt and let down by him and I'm so pleased he's come out and said this about him disrespecting the club and the fans.

Suarez needed a good talking to not that he gives a **** but Rodgers has made him look a right nob now and has proper left him to hang out and dry in public. It's about time too. Just because these guys are superstars doesn't mean they should run the rule and hold clubs to ransom no matter who they are or how good they are, this kind of piss taking has been going on for too long.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Rodgers is amazing with the press. The best manager we've had a dealing with the press for a long, long time.

I think it benefits the club massively, we're starting to get the media back on our side now (after the Suarez affair). I think that can only help our fortunes.

I still hate it when he speaks to TalkSport and gets all pally with the inbreds on there though

Hopefully this will bring the rest of the team closer together, not to prove a point to LS, but to really draw the line between those that want to fight for the shirt and those that don't.

                                And he's only 40

He's got a lot of development ahead of himself still, and a hell of a lot of years as manager if it all works out.

Which is why I've always been so desperate for it to work.

It would be immense to keep the same manager for 20+ years.

Some nice positive tactics, gives the team a killer instinct, signs some cracking players whilst sticking with a budget, presents the club as a united front.

He's the complete package if he can just step us up to the next level and I think he can.
