I hated everything that came with Hodgson, his turgid and defensive style of football and his total arrogance at interviews.
This is the issue for me as well. Despite how badly he is doing, it would be better to keep him and have more options in the summer, than pick the wrong new man just because he is avaliable now.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Statistically maybe, but it's not. We have better players and are at least trying to play our way. We never did that under Hodgson.
          Are we winning?

How do you work out Klopp and Ancellotti as being the wrong men?
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Klopp and Ancelotti would walk here tomorrow and fight to the death for a chance here I reckon, it's hard to ignore candidates like that when we are playing like this. I'd be stunned if we went that route though, it'll be some clever move based on stats from some baseball dickhead.

Em, we don't know what way to play.... that's the problem. No identity.

I think you are Brendan Rodgers logged onto EST from your iPhone on the team bus. It's the only way I can justify your post.

I think our issues are exacerbated by a lack of confidence.

Not sure there is much difference

Hodgson football was defensive, passive and turgid

Rodgers side can't defend at all but we are still passive and turgid

Says it all for me that Brendans results are as bad if not worse than Roy and yet he's still survived.

There's a few reasons for this. The fans didn't like Roy one iota and Rodgers is more media savvy
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

We are directionless and clueless more than anything

Yeah possibly. I'm just not as obsessed to call for his head like you for instance, who's probably posting it 1000 times a day and still isn't sick of saying it after the 1001th time.

Our current state of play is bad. What's more to add to it?

At least I'm trying to bring about some balance in here.

I don't understand the glee that some people feel about sacking a manager. All I feel is sadness. Here we go again, another season written off in transition, another manager fallen by the wayside, another brave new dawn. Don't get me wrong, Brendan's reign currently has the same feeling as the end-days of Hodgson, and if we don't go on a miraculous 10 game winning streak now he'll be gone and rightly so. He can't say he wasn't given a fair crack at it after 3 full seasons and plenty of backing.

I think we need to question how we're run as a club though, with absentee owners and no clear idea of what we are as a team. We've lurched from Hodgson long ball to Dalglish pragmatism, to Rodgers...whatever the **** it is that we're trying to do now. Players have been signed for years for positions that the manager doesn't require, (e.g. if you've already got Coutinho then why waste £50m on Lallana and Firmino to play no.10? If you're not going to play with wingers then why waste £20m on Markovic?).

I think we need to commit to what we want the club to be on the pitch, and make our management and playing decisions around that. Personally I'd like to us commit to a pass-and-move style, with workers all over the pitch, pressing teams high up the pitch and moving the ball quickly in possession. But whatever we want to be, we should focus on that, and not sign players just because the stats say they're undervalued, sign them because they are "Liverpool players" who will slot into our club style. That also means not signing players who are very talented but don't fit in with what we're trying to do e.g. Carroll, Markovic, maybe Benteke (though I hope not).

I think everyone would take one of Ancelotti or Klopp now, but if Rodgers does go and the owners want to do something innovative then how about Carra as caretaker, with Gerrard to join him at the end of the MLS season? They'd make sure we had a Liverpool style about us, and wouldn't tolerate a lot of the **** that's been going off for the last 18 months. I'd still want Ancelotti or Klopp, but I fear that if Rodgers goes we're going to get a Howe, De Boer or Deschamps, and we'll be back to square one.
