He looked proper professional. Think he's worn that with Swansea a few times.

Speaking of club suit, where can you get the tie from?

**** it, I thought it was you.

I'd give him a B+ because I don't think we were ever targeting a cup or a CL spot (as much as we would love to).

We did have a decent run in the EL but our change in style has highlighted the shortcomings in too many players to be replaced in one transfer window.

On the whole we've become a more inventive side and I think another decent window followed by a solid pre-season will mean proper business next season.

With 3 games to go we already have more points than last season, then factor in cutting the wage bill, then the fact that our new transfer structure wasnt in place for the summer then our first 5 games were ridiculously hard and its fair to assume we should really be on conservitively 5 or 6 points more.
I think he's had a great 1st season, all things considered.
We had such a **** season last season that Kenny got sacked. If we hadn't improved on that then Rodgers would really be a very average manager.

Have we improved enough? My answer would be no.

You can't say only because we improved since last season that it is enough improvement because as I said, last season was **** when it comes down to the league. We have improved from **** to just enough to save the managers job.

If you include the cups then we had a better season last season. If you look at how we play then it is an improvement.

The season before it was **** as was the one before that as well, it's not going to be all of sudden with a new manager we're back to being excellent again without a huge amount of investment.

I have no idea what it is you want or actually expect to be honest.

They've been linked again with some good players, if they could get a few of them in I don't think they'll be worse off for losing Bale next year.

What I expected was that we at least would be very close to a top four place and a good balanced system.

I think that around £35m net is a big enough investment.

I have a lot of times said that Rodgers must get another season but that season we must either get a top four place or be very close. No excuses next season.

I think your expectations are the issue here, not our performance.

£35M was never going to be enough considering where we coming from, as Matt has said your expectations are the issue.

I'd agree with the C+ score. He's done okay and certainly deserves to stay on.

Another big summer though - we need 2 or 3 defensive players and we have to nail defending set-pieces and crosses in general. If we fail then we'll quickly plateau.

I think you expect far far to much we have been a team in decline for a few seasons including some horrendous transfers. in the secound half of last season we were in relegation form losing 11 out of 19 games since the turn of the year.

I would be expecting near a 100m budget last summer to expect a push for top 4. Think we have done well this season, but next season we must push top 4 all the way.

I haven't heard him make any excuses this season regarding our league position. He's done well, all things considered.

some good points and discussion over the last few pages, gents

rodgers has done ok clearing dead wood, trimming the bills and keeping the owners happy.
this 'feel good factor/fabric conditioner' bit is all good after yesterdays result. we might be a little rose tinted in our viewpoint after that.

clean sheets are not so good if we cannot score at the other end. points count.
remember when manure were playing fantastic gung-ho football with giggs and kanchelskis ripping the wings... they might concede one or two, but would score three or four. its wins you need, not clean sheets
games we all thought we would win end up as being 0-0 and we take a clean sheet as a positive, but we need to be able to open up the bus parking teams as well as the newcastles and norwich teams who will give us space to play through them. you cannot counter attack against teams who sit back.
we have battered a few teams and then been sucker punched in the last few minutes and came away with nothing.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
