Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, that's a non Liverpool view on it! We did put City (who fielded a strong team home and away) out and Chelsea (away) too en routeOriginally posted by Redspin View PostCup runs my arse. We had our worst league season since we were relegated 58 years earlier. This season is already a big improvement. For the first time in several years I'm optimistic about next season.
Last year we had to endure Adam and Spearing in midfield and too often resorted to thumping balls up the pitch for Carroll. It was desperate stuff in the main. Beating a second division team on penalties in the least important knock-out competition doesn't amount to much

Frenchie
Focus on the premiership, batter the middle and lower clubs and draw or beat the best clubs = winning the league..simples.
Another decent transfer period and the group should be challenging next season no question..

After 35 games we're currently closer to the team in 20th (29 points away) that the team in first (31 points away), so even if nobody improved except ourselves we've still got a lot of ground to make up. Factor in the high probability of the teams above us making additions with superior financial firepower (not the bitters) and back-of-the-envelope predictions are not clear cut.Originally posted by Frenchie View PostFocus on the premiership, batter the middle and lower clubs and draw or beat the best clubs = winning the league..simples.

Our main hope will be for our rivals to **** it up and not play up to their playing and financial strength like they have ****ed it up this season (except the red mancs), and like we have ****ed it up in having teams around us that have nowhere near our resources.

Could be, we can't afford to mess up this summer though, Brendan is slowly winning me over and he seems to have laid good ground work for next season, like:Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI think we'd be in contention for 4th place if we'd had Coutinho and Sturridge from the beginning of the season.
Gerrard especially has now adjusted well to this new style.
Lucas is getting back to his best.
More attacking options and improved attack in general.
Trimmed the wage budget.
Youth players have come through and earned experience.
Brendan has changed his style so we are more direct.
Improved players like Henderson and Downing.
With a good summer window, almost anything is possible next season IMO, too bad Carra wont postphone his retirement.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Personally, I think this is a load of ****.
Last time I checked, Europe was Europe, no matter how the **** you got in it.Brendan Rodgers: I’d prefer to be in it [Europa League] by qualifying through the league or winning a trophy. If it’s not that way then we are better suited to re-aligning our focus to domestic cups and the leagueRome wasn't built in a day, but it wasn't built by the apprentice either.
