would much prefer to be playing in europe, however we get there.
this is obviously not rodgers decision though. the club are already committed to the far east/oz games so we are brand building instead of bringing on the younger players.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

No. You either want to play in Europe, or you don't, and I'm sick of expectations of the clubs achievements being lowered and people going along with it.Originally posted by SERVO2 View PostErm no there is a huge difference between a definite & a maybe...

Ok so the club should freeze for something that may happen - but at the moment last I saw we are 2nd behind Arsenal IF England was in the top 3 BUT IT ISN'T!!!!!!!Originally posted by Shackanory View PostNo. You either want to play in Europe, or you don't, and I'm sick of expectations of the clubs achievements being lowered and people going along with it.
I'm all for fighting the good fight BUT it it seems HIGHLY unlikely to happen so the club needs to make plans get over it!!!
Cheers

What is the point of football if it isn't to compete to win competitions and leagues that are worthwhile? Playing friendly games to appeal to untapped markets in faraway places seems disrespectful to fans who make this club what it is. I'm sure that our global appeal is important financially, but competing in Europe provides good experience and also enhances our global brand. I'll be really pissed off if we throw away the opportunity to compete in a European competition for a few exhibition games just to sell a few more shirts. No doubt the owners would view my opinion as short-sighted, but if we're not growing as a club then we're regressing.

I know that football is about money these days and the general priorities are wrong. Shouldn't we expect our club to compete for genuinely worthwhile trophies whenever possible? I don't care whether we sell more genuine shirts in the far east than we currently do - it might benefit the club financially in a way (not sure if that's in the long term or the short term), but it doesn't enter into my perception of Liverpool Football Club. I pay to watch my team and I want to be in European competitions - obviously at the top level ideally, but there is definitely merit in exposing our young inexperienced manager to European football to prepare him for when his plan starts to work.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostTo make money for players and managers, obviously.

Are you saying that there's no chance of us attaining a place in the Europa League through the fair play thingy?Originally posted by SERVO2 View PostIF we where top of the fair play league in England AND England where in a qualifying place I couldn't agree more BUT their not & their not so.....
If the tour gives us an extra fiver to throw in the kitty this is what we need to do.
