    Sub-heading isn't too clever:

Pretty snide that. He's praising Rodgers and probably not thought about it (or how his comments might be misinterpreted) a great deal, given what's gone on. Not having a pop at Rafa, he never even mentioned him.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Seeing the video, theres no malice in what he said, easy to twist though.

I think this comment under the headline is misleading in the extreme, it sensationalises an otherwise fairly innocuous comment into something nasty, which I don't believe it was intended to be.

"Liverpool captain wishes Rodgers not Rafa Benitez had taken over as manager in midfielder's prime"
        Really?

I think you're being oversensitive. However direct, he thinks Brendan would have won him titles over other managers, incincluding Rafa. It's only snide if you are particularly sensitive about criticism of Rafa.

I don't think it's that pointed. I'm not being arsey about his quote, I think it's fine. No problem with it at all. I don't think it's anything like a dig at Benitez. I just reckon the whole "24" thing (i.e. the age he was when Rafa took over) is a coincidence, he's 34 now and he's thinking he'd liked to have met Brendan 10 years ago rather than at the back end of his career.

I think it was more of a show of support towards what Rodgers is trying to do and how he could still fit into it and not what he wished happened 10 years ago.

He said it twice ('when I was 24'/'10 years ago') by accident

Well I read it as "I wish I was 24 again". Twice.

I just can't believe anyone would want to interpret it as any sort of dig at anyone. How much of a cunt do people think Gerrard is? He could hardly string a sentence together, eyes clearly welling up throughout....as if he'd be thinking "Ooooh I can't wait to get a little dig in at Rafa". The Telegraph's headline just fuels all this ****e. Civil war on Twitter now between people raging at his "dig at Rafa" and others who think it's ridiculous.

Like Shaggy says, I don't have a problem with the quote either. I do have a problem with the fact the Torygraph see fit to twist one of our players' words in order to create some false impression of bad blood. I have a problem with the appalling journalistic standards being demonstrated. Gerrard might have that view (as described by you) - fair enough - I reckon he's pretty grateful for the biggest trophy of his career as well!
                        Really?

I mean, if it's a dig at Rafa, it's a dig at Kenny too. As if.

                            And Hodgson. The England Manager....

Even taking the telegraph interpretation, I don't see how stating a preference for one manager (over another) implies bad blood between the two. That's what I think is overly sensitive. The bad blood bit is your own spin.
