edit: I will concede I got my time when we were second wrong. But the point remains we have not been ranked 1
We were ranked number 1 during the season.
We ended joint second at the end.

It was still a brilliant achievement and large part of that was due to Rafa.

He’s here! I *know* he’s here! That’s him, I’m telling you that’s him! You hear me? I’m telling you it’s *Keyser Soze*!

Oh well we won the league under Rodgers then. I mean, I know we were not top at the end of the season when it ****ing mattered but if we pick some arbitrary point in the season to classify when a ranking matters even though nobody else uses that arbitrary point as a benchmark then Rafa is the greatest human that has ever lived and Rodgers interferes with cats and should be sacked
      Football without Origi is nothing

The coefficient doesn't reset at the start of every season though, Shirley.

Yup, that was 10 years since they last won anything else worth winning.

That's made up Chazza. Gerrard is leaving because he's disillusioned by Brendan. I read it in this actual thread.

                  Edit: here it is mate

Rafa did very well for us until the Alonso incident. After that he wasn't backed so couldn't replace him properly. He still would have likely struggled anyway even with cash.

But regardless of rank, we were highly regarded due to being in the CL on a regular basis and being in two finals. At that point, had we been under the right owners we could have gone on to be a real power house in Europe.

That said, you look back at that team & you have to wonder how we never won the league. For me, Rafa never prioritised the league. He was all about the CL. Didn't have the squad to manage both. How I miss the likes of Pepe, Masch, Xabi, Hyypia & Carra. A real solid team.

Combine that team with the forward threat of last year - Wowzers.
                        Forwards.......

He was too defensive in his outlook to win the league. Sometimes I wondered whether he realised that you get 3 points for a win, not 2.

What a nasty sensationalist spin the Torygraph have put on a rather innocuous comment of support for the current manager. Just goes to show how careful you would have to be in the public eye with these worms looking around for a sniff of carrion. Also demonstrates why no-one should read the newspapers.
                              Really?
