Thanjk you.

Seems like our players really believe in what he is doing, and the comments from Gerrard wishing he met him 10 years ago make you realise how much respect there is for him amongst the squad. The defensive side of our game has improved and we are showing much more fluency in attack. The new signings are starting to understand how we play. He was constantly saying how it would take time to get to this level and he was right. Definite signs of progress now.

Without a doubt.
I said it when I wanted him sacked because of his Gerrard DM myopia. He is the best manager I have seen for us since Daglish 1986 - 1990. It would be a shame if his myopia was the reason we lost the best manager we were going to see for a long time.
Thankfully, that tough period is over and we're back to seeing some unbelievable football. Sturridge coming back will suddenly throw Rodgers' back into the limelight as the next Barca / England / Man City manager, etc.

Haha, I'm a fan of Rodgers and have defended him when others were calling for his head. But let's win a few trophies first before we get carried away. He's level par with Evan's for me and a trophy this year will get him close to Houllier.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I was very critical of him but I stand by it, he was taking ludicrous decisions regarding team selection, everyone could see what was wrong but he persisted anyway. I get angry just thinking about it. I don't agree he is the best of the last two decades, I won't until he can show some linear progress for two seasons running. I'm getting enough of this two steps forward, one step backwards.
As it is, he' doing great again, but I'd prefer he could do transfer our progress between seasons and build on it properly. Next season will be interesting for sure.

Myopic is a pretty good word to summarise this post. Which is a nice coincidence.

Just think how much rent he could have collected in that time
There has definitely been an improvement but looking at the results:
Leicester 1 - Liverpool 3 expect to win
Liverpool 0 - Sunderland 0 expect to win
Liverpool 1 - Basle 1 expect to win
Scum 3 - Liverpool 0 loss expected
Bournemouth 1 - Liverpool 3 expect to win
Liverpool 2 - Arsenal 2 draw
Burnley 0 - Liverpool 1 expect to win
Liverpool 4- Swansea 1 expect to win as at home
Liverpool 2-Leicester 2 expect to win
Wimbledon 1 - Liverpool 2 expect to win
Sunderland 0 - Liverpool 1 draw
Villa 0 - Liverpool 2 draw
Liverpool 1- Chelsea 1 draw/loss
These upcoming games will be a better barometer than the above imo

Agree, we have been on an easy run, although the improvement in performances is notable, like Swansea and Chelsea.

If we won all the games that we "expect to win" we'd win the league.
If we won all the games that we "expect to win" we'd win the league.
TBF, games against Sunderland, Basel, Leicester, Wimbledon and Burnley will always fall in that category. Then there is Swansea at home and a very struggling Villa side, the fixtures have been easy.

thats about the same for me. we need to see more of the two steps forward and less of the one step back.
losing suarez was something we knew was going to happen and we didnt prepare for it well enough.
sturridge being out for an extended period was a massive kick in the plums but although he is a very good striker we know he can be a little fragile, so we should have had another decent option to play along side or as an alternative.
to say sanchez didnt want to come or remy failed his medical means we havent done much serious scouting other than looking at the back pages. sloppy.
gerrard being favoured to ping the long balls when we were no longer in a position to capitalise on them was very blinkered. etc...
we look decent now. i hope its not another false dawn.

Hope so, there is lots of experience Rodgers can have taken from this period, really hope he does.
