If Ferguson or Mourinho had have been on the end of that performance by Costa you'd bet the house they have clearly called out how bad those two stamping incidents were.

Brendan just said it was "poor". He should have called for those types of deliberate career threatening incidents to be punished to the extent of the existing laws and called out for Mourinho to come out and say the behaviour from his own player was appalling.

Even the incident with Gerrard - Costa had his hands all over his face at one point in an attempt to drag him down.

I don't think it makes any difference if they're mates or not. Not to us. We don't carry off that "Everyone hates us" attitude, we just get on with it.

I also think that siege mentality rubbish can wear thin after a while. Better to use it sparingly or it drains players & fans after a certain period of time.

Looking at the squad and the way we play now, the man to make way for Sturridge is Gerrard. Sterling moves to Gerrard's attacking right spot and Sturridge goes upfront.

Then where does Lallana play? I would be expecting him to make himself a starter. Good to have competition I guess.
