Very very impressed by the way he has turned it around. Normally when a team goes on a slide, often managers run out of ideas, and it is a slippery slope till the manager gets fired.

He has tried different formations, made subtle changes to the way we play, and once again we look like a team which deserves its place in the top 4.

Playing and persisting with Sterling upfront was a brave move. Sakho, Mignolet, Markovic - all look significantly better the last few weeks.

wow only 5pts of 3rd .....we can still do this

We can the problem is the number of other teams still in with a shout of the top 4.

Mancs, Southampton, Arsenal, Spurs and Us I'd say are all in with a really good shout for it so it's going to be tough.

it is and our problematic [word of the day] slow start could be a reason why we don't,but more importantly it's getting our style of play back and sticking to the right system. Also with the Uefa league approaching and the CL prize it offers along with 4th spot i wonder what if any will be sacrificed.

The Thursday/Sunday games I can see being a problem for us.

I think Rodgers has done remarkably well to turn us around this season we look more and more like the team from last season.

Very True, not sure if we can challenge on both fronts what with Sturridge's injury problems,he seems so vital to us.Be interesting to see how we approach The Uefa Cup and The push for Top 4

The good thing is that with the change in style we've managed pretty well without him, not clinical enough in front of goal perhaps but we've stopped conceding goals and we've been nicking wins.

Quite the conundrum for Rodgers too. With the possibility of Champions League football from winning the Europa League, it's not as if Rodgers can put all his eggs in the challenge for fourth basket.

As Rich has pointed out, it's a six way battle for two places. Spurs might have the League Cup on their mind and history shows the winner falls away in the league. Arsenal will have Champions League commitments and as for Southampton and Manchester United, we showed last season what can be achieved with a week to prepare. Our saving grace is that Manchester United are keeping all North West doctors and physios in employment and Southampton don't have the experience ...

If we can maintain our momentum, we could still have a decent season. And for that, Rodgers needs a high five. People were quick to blast him when he experienced his first spell of pressure but Rodgers highlighted how tactically astute and flexible he is.

Those four teams will be looking at us and regarding us as a real problem threat as well though.

We have already beaten two of them this season and drawn with another, so I reckon none of them will be overly happy that their second round of games against us will be against a team in much better form than when they met us first time around.

Our next four league games gives us the chance to start gaining ground on a few of the clubs above us, and Sturridge will have gotten a few more minutes under his belt by the time the games against Spurs and Southampton roll around. Keep our current run of form going for the next four games and we will jump at least one if not two of the teams above us in the table.

Prizes aren't handed out early season, though they can be lost. We've had massive set backs but I think we may still have a positive season. The problem as rightly pointed out by others, is the amount of teams competing for 2 CL spots. I think we are on 20 points from the last 24, but I still feel like we are in that zone where if we drop points in a couple of games we would drop right out of contention.

With a tough run of games around the corner, we really need to be at our very best.
                        Forwards.......

My main gripe with him was that our poor first half was self inflicted. But he deserves every bit of praise going his way and then some, very impressed.

No different to what Spurs, Arsenal, and Southampton are going through atm.

We already know that one or both of Spurs and Arsenal are going to drop points next weekend as they are playing each other, so if we beat Everton we will gain ground on at least one of them.

Then the following week we play Spurs so another chance to do damage to a rival.

I think that we cannot go into games worrying about dropping points because we are going to drop some between now and the end of the season, but so are our rivals, and our rivals have to play each other as well as having to play us so we have just as many chances to gain ground on them as they have to pull away from us.

Things could well go belly up for us, but I am chosing to believe that we are going to rack up the points this month and come March when we face the Mancs again we will be in a position to move into 3rd spot.

This. I was sour on him earlier as well. His knack of successfully switching up a formation is genius I say. Few managers can arrest and turn around a slide in fortunes the way he can.
