Tbh, I honestly can't see Swansea and West Brom (plus the teams currently below us) finishing above us. So I'm reasonably confident of finishing 7th or maybe 6th. It'll take a pretty gargantuan effort to claim 5th place now though IMO.
    Oh I don't know.

I hate that comment that people come out with though, failed to beat a team in the top half of the table. If we lost every single game from now on and finished bottom, we could put that stat right at the end of the season, but end up being relegated or something

You can twist facts and stats to suit any arguement you like.

My point is the facts say we haven't yet beaten a top 9 team, my own eyes tell me we have deserved to but haven't through human errors from officials and players.
        There is a differene.

You make it sound as if we've been battered by all the top 9 and all hope is lost.

Just like it is a fact that if you have more than 50% possession in a PL game you are 80% likely to not lose the game.

We've had more than 50% in games and lost so are you believing those facts or not?

So is there a league position which would mean that Rodgers loses his job?

I'm reading people saying we'll finish 6th or 7th but what if we finish 9th or 10th... does that represent a decent return on the £50m (gross) he spent in his first season?

I'm not a fan of it as it has become a lazy commentator's cliche. But there's no denying it's true. Until West Ham go up one place.

              Yep it's absolute bollocks.
From the same school of facts as Liverpool would be such and such place without Suarez's goals or Man U would be blah blah without RvP's goals.

Just complete and utter Sky generated bull**** and if any Liverpool fan (or any football fan) buys into it then they are ridiculously thick as ****.

It's a poor quote that keeps coming up over and over. In the grand scheme of things it's crap. Lose the next couple of games and we're sorted. Never have to hear it again

For me, worse than 7th represents a pretty dire showing for the players we have.

But then you have to group in the arguments about things like dodgy decisions or individual mistakes.

Football to me has always been about the 90 minutes. Players and officials make mistakes all the time, its part of the game.

I know it wasn't you who mentioned it, but it was a good leading point.

Haha. I've not said anything of the sort.

We've had more than 50% of posession in the vast majority of most games yet we are nowhere near winning 80% of games. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere the other day that we've had the most shots in the whole of Europe, but we're nowhere near being top scorers. We've had some bad decisions too, sure. But I would argue that we've had fewer bad decisions than in previous seasons. We've generally had the rub of the green in the past few months imo.

We're in 9th place. There's no escaping that, no dressing it up. Whether you think we deserve to be or not is pretty irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things. That's the way it is right now.
                        Oh I don't know.

What budget is Rodgers working too and what do FSG expect from him?
How much has he saved off the wage bill?

Nothing personal against you rich but it is completely pointless even debating it because unless we know what Rodgers has been asked to do how can we speculate whether FSG think he is doing a good job.

For all we know FSG may have said we don't care about the league position Brendon, have this year free, you've got to bring the average age of the squad down to 25, get x million off the wage bill per week and really push the academy so that young players will sign for us as they believe they'll get a chance.

If that's the brief then he's done all asked of him.

We don't know so all this idle speculation is simptimatic of Liverpool fans in the last 3-4 years, desperate for something to moan about.

Tell you what mate, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that FSG have more sense than some LFC fans do. Some come across as absolutely ****ing clueless. That's not aimed at anyone on here though. More the fannys on twitter
