I would have said sack Rodgers had he kept on sending the same formation out which he did do up until the Palace game.

Since then though he has tried different things and all the while we haven't had a decent striker to choose from.

Be good if he rests Gerrard and Sterling for the cup game and goes with a front three of Coutinho, Lallana and Markovic

And please, please search, locate and pick Can for that game too!

Isn't this the exact story of our season though? Nearly win the league against the giants of City (sounds stupid but with all the money they've spent they are). Then lose our best player and struggle with mediocrity.

TBF, we chose to buy lots of midtable players. Dortmund don't have our spending power.

He's a great manager that has reached his ceiling with Dortmund and should have left in the summer. He is a proven winner, breaking the mold against giants Bayern who have dominated for so long. You cannot compare Rodgers achievements with Klopp's.

Would be a great choice for us "if" Rodgers goes.

Plus he'd be a lot of fun... Which judging by this place is something our supporters could do with.

Fair point, but BVB also play in a league which is much less competitive than ours. And they still have a very good squad, winning the Champions League group shows that.

Just don't see Klopp getting anymore out of the players we have than Rodgers.

Till the end of the season unless there are a terrible series of defeats. Getting beat 3-0 at United hurts by even our best teams struggled there.

I still believe he can turn it around, the situation doesn't feel terminal as the end of Souness, Houllier or Rafa.

If FSG pull the trigger, I wonder if an international manager would fancy taking charge for 6 months.

Guus Hiddink is having a torrid time with the Netherlands, and there's constant speculation about his future. Fabio Capello hasn't been paid by Russia for a while. This would give us the time to put together a plan to push forward for the future. I can't see Klopp walking away from Dortmund or De Boer walking away from Ajax mid-season (just two examples there).

Again, that is if FSG decide enough is enough.

7 defeats before new year is terrible though. That is means we need a near perfect second half of the season.

I'd keep him but could be a shout! Europa League looks like our best bet for the CL now, would fancy us to go very close in that if we got our confidence back and had a goalscorer in the team. Looks a long way off at this stage mind!

Not with how the season has went so far. We are still only 7 behind West Ham at fourth.

Though I concede if we lost to both Bournemouth and Arsenal his role would be untenable. Conversely win both and things look a whole lot better.

Only Bayern do in that league, not like they're second.

I rate Klopp, I really do. But isn't he just similar to what Rodgers is doing?

Lose his best players and struggles. And Dortmund are arguably a better squad than what we have. He's lost Gotze and Lewandowski. Who else has he lost? A season a part too. Rodgers lost his strike force in one summer effectively.

We keep saying that. Beat Basle and things will look better. Then it was beat Unit and things will look better. Now it's each a semi final of a league cup and beat Arsenal and things will look better. Pretty soon it won't matter.

But I will say in his favour, had we had a fit Sturridge, we'd be top 4 IMO.

Dortmund have had lots of injuries to key players.
