I think he did seem kind if deflated to be honest and who can blame him really. He wanted 20 goals from midfield, we didn't get Henry M. He wanted goals from wide positions, we missed out on Willian. No experienced CB to add to Toure etc etc.
The most heart breaking thing is the idea that we have been "too ambitious".

Very telling that is. Will keep thoughts to myself.Originally posted by kingfunk View Post"We've been very ambitious to get the players in an attempt to improve the team..... Some might say too ambitious"
Wonder who the latter part of that quote was pointed toward?
"Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

Yeah it's strange how most top 7 English sides seem to be struggling, apart from Spurs but then they apparently have £90m coming anyway.Originally posted by dww View Post
Clearly we have not been able to make the big move we wanted to. But other players in the market were better placed and even some of them have not be able to do so (see Arsenal).
Last few days are going to be carnage, probably with players that you wouldnt think are available going.

From what Henry said earlier he expects us to challenge, he is completely deluded if he thinks that will happen given the signings made , and then Brendan will be the one to suffer the axe when we fail.
They may pull off a coup before the window closes but I highly doubt it"All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"

Quite obviously he doesn't. Or else he wouldn't be sanctioning £25m+ bids multiple times in the window.Originally posted by souliv View PostFrom what Henry said earlier he expects us to challenge, he is completely deluded if he thinks that will happen given the signings made , and then Brendan will be the one to suffer the axe when we fail.

He sanctioned the deals but his negotiating team has failed so far to deliver players that will strengthen the areas were we are weak.Originally posted by broman View PostQuite obviously he doesn't.
