But Record Sport understands Rodgers stands to pocket almost £5m a year over the next two years as per the terms of his severance deal at Anfield.
And that gardening leave jackpot will stop paying out from the moment he puts pen to paper on a contract with a new employer.
That means sugar daddy Desmond will have to dig deep to tempt Rodgers into accepting the job offer and turning his back on potentially more lucrative offers from other English Premiership clubs this summer.

So Brendan, we want you to pay 7 mill to come and manage Celtic.
Disclaimer: the above is based on an uneduacted guesstimate of 1.5mill pa salary from Celtic.Last edited by Vermilion; 18-05-16, 10:05 AM.

There won't be another Premier League job available for him. The only other position he's been linked with is West Brom. He's only 43 years old, so 2-3 years at Celtic will still put at 46 years old, which is young in managerial terms, given that Rafa was 44 when he took over us, and Klopp was 48 when he came to us.

No way will Celtic offer that kind of money, there just isn't that much money in the SPL to drop on management. Even half that.Originally posted by Bender View PostBRENDAN RODGERS will have to turn his back on a £10m fortune if he’s to accept the job of leading Celtic’s push for six-in-a-row.
