I was too busy identifying the players people were talking about in the above posts.

Awful, awful shirts. I have better looking PJs and I'm a sloth.

I was thinking earlier about the effect Rodgers will have on the current players at the club. Who knows how the players will respond to his method and to his system? A diamond or two could well emerge - who knows!

What got me thinking about this was an interview Rodgers gave on motd a few months ago. And he was talking about Leon Britton. Unbelievable for Rodgers at Swansea. Goes to Sheffield... absolute ****. Comes back to Swansea - better than ever.

It'll be interesting to see how our players adapt their games to his style.

Rodgers wasn't manager for Britton's first spell at Swansea was he?

That's inevitable given the point you made about Leon Britton. Exciting stuff.

I think Buck will be jizzing everywhere once he see's Suso play

I think he was, but I might be wrong. But my point is as much about the system as the manager. Swansea played similar football before Rodgers arrived.

                          Fair enough.

I think it could be a valid point to separate the two points - manager and system/style though. I think there are more commonalities between what we tried last season and what Rodgers appears to want to do than is sometimes made out. Both tweaks to the system/style and a different attitude from the manager (and/or coaches) could impact on the performance of individuals.

I would imagine a massive part of Brendans brief from FSG will be to get more out of our signings from last summer and to get more of the young players on the cusp at the Academy making the step up to the first team.

Thinking about B-Rod’s Swansea setup and the players that we have, specially the youth, here’s the best like for like line-up I can muster:

                                Vorm (Reina)
Rangel (Johnson) // CB // CB // LB (Enrique)
Dyer (Silva) // Allen (Lucas) // Britton (Suso? or Gerrard?) // Sinclar (Sterling)
                                Graham (Suarez)

That’s 10. Who’s the 11th player Swansea regularly relied on? Must be a midfielder I’m missing but I can’t think of the name.
