If Rodgers wants a contract extension then we have very little choice IMO. Stability is clearly important and any sign that we were not backing him could become a distraction. He's done well and deserves longer to keep the progress going.

Something we should be sorting out at the end of the season.

Nah, get it sorted now. It's clear that this isn't a fluke. Get him tied down now.

The less distractions while we're in good form can only be a good thing for the club.

We can be focused in buying players in the Winter and Summer windows. Especially with all the inevitable Suarez bollocks we'll have to endure at the end of the season.

Yep. Sign him on. After that match he can write his own ticket anywhere in the PL.

I don't see any benefit in waiting, his brief was to have significant improvement within 3 years, we're there now.

Some of the stuff we played today was mindblowing, and this is with us missing first teamers aswell! What a job he's doing.

He's winning me over. I was very wrong about him, nothing new there though.

There are lots of things to be positive about after that performance. We were the better team, playing against the best team in the league, at their turf. He had Pellegrini tactically beaten.

Rodgers is making mistakes but he's learning from them. Fast. It's probably his most impressive trait. Just needs to do better in the transfer market and stop spending money on ****e squad filler.

If he can sort us out defensively, we'll be on par with Man City.

Completely agree. If we can qualify for the CL, keep Suarez, and maybe even compete for the league title, I think that he will be able to attract even better players to raise the quality of the squad.

Been wondering about this. It's been nearly 1.5 years now and we are still absolute rubbish at defending set pieces. We weren't always this bad with the same players so that leads you to look at the coaching. You have to wonder if he will ever sort it out. If we weren't conceding goals from set pieces we'd hardly be conceding any.

                            Well said that man.

I think that if he continues to learn and to develop the playing style in the current vein, he's our best chance of winning the title in a long time. We have a squad where the majority of players are under 25 - over the next few years the potential is incredible. Fill the few gaps in our current squad and I honestly think we're a match for City, and better than everyone else.

Individual errors let us down, not tactics, and so I can't see any critisism of the manager being levelled at all

We should put a call into Sami Hyypia or Steve Clarke!
