Was listening to the radio before and they were advertising the club end of season awards being held at the echo arena.
I couldn't stop laughing at it thinking in what world does the club think our season deserves an end of season awards ceremony?
Joke.Last edited by Leyton388; 30-04-15, 08:43 PM.

What team doesn't need to improve in every position? We may have problems in defence and midfield, but you cant deny, the absolute overriding issue this season has been goals. Our three main scorers last season Suarez, Sturridge and Gerrard* were not there this season, and we didn't replace that (blame whoever you want for that). I was very disheartened after Tuesday but I can't get beyond the fact that Rodgers does his best work when he has good attacking players. I think it's worth hanging onto him, giving him quality attackers and see how it goes for one more season, before we start another three year project with Klopp or whoever. Klopp has a completely different approach.Originally posted by Lecter View PostGoals are a problem but so is the midfield
Its weak as a kitten, it doesnt compete for enough possession or press the ball enough. Its out fought frequently
Brendan himself has come out and said we need "men in the team" and I completely agree.
You need a good blend in your side of characters but we have bought far too many pretty players and no players who are prepared to do the nitty gritty stuff when it counts
* this seasons Gerrard is not the Gerrard we saw last season and before

the issue of our main scorers from last year not contributing due to leaving, injury or poor form is the perennial excuse trotted out by brendan.Originally posted by vonk View PostWhat team doesn't need to improve in every position? its valid, but it doesnt hide the fact that there are other massive issues that he has no excuse for.
i think he hopes that continually having to explain our lack of goals will deflect the eye from the other areas of our poor performances.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I know they do but after this season the last thing the club should be doing is giving the team and management a pat on the back. It should be the shortest awards ceremony ever. Compare our goals against to the teams in 2nd and 4th. Then consider the fact that our much maligned keeper is about to win the golden glove. Then compare our goals scored to the teams above us and tell me again how much of a big problem our defence/defensive midfield is.
Rodgers has improved our defence whether you agree or not. But it's pointless if you have Balotelli, Borini and Lambert to score the goals. Sterling can't finish easy chances. Coutinho only scores the odd worldie. There are no goals in our team. All season.
I'd venture that If we bought two world class strikers in the summer and brought wisdom and ilori back we'd be fine next season with what we have right now.

We've created 50 chances in our last five league games and only scored four.
Combine that with, as you say, a relatively tighter defence and you can see where our problems lie. People want to point at systems, tactics and formations for our failures this season, but ultimately, we've played some good football this season but we've been hopeless in front of goal.

Agree to an extent, Rodgers has addressed the defensive issues somewhat, but I think to compete in the big games, against te other top four you need a good defensive midfielder.Originally posted by vonk View PostCompare our goals against to the teams in 2nd and 4th. I think the football has been poor from us this season, barring a handful of gamesOriginally posted by Muddled View Post

Hmm forgive me for saying this but this chances created thing must be a very broad and all encompassing statBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Someone who can put the ball in the net is what we need desperately. If you look at the table our goals against record (37) is comparable to Man City (36), Arsenal (32) and Man Utd (34), where we differ from them is in goals scored we have 47 where has Man City, Arsenal and Man Utd have 70, 63 and 59 respectively, an extra 15-20 goals could have made a huge difference. While we might have still been unhappy with performances, the truth is scoring goals and picking up points can mask alot of other problems.Last edited by Exiled_red; 01-05-15, 08:18 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
