Fair enough, I didn't know which part of the Wirral he was from. Obviously it'd be a bit closer if it was from Birkenhead or Wallasey.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post14 miles from Heswall (where Mike Dean is from) to Anfield.
14 miles from Bolton to Manchester.

So is Ian Astbury from The cult and Jim Bowen from Bullseye.Originally posted by Redspin View PostNot a lot of people know that former England cricketer Ian Botham was born in Heswall, as was reds' fan and DJ John Peel
I didn't know that Jonathan Walters was from Moreton, that was a surprise.Last edited by Mattshark; 04-01-14, 03:18 PM.

He was only born there and for all I know they might have moved away when he was a baby. His accent didn't sound like a Wirral one, nor did Jim Bowen's for that matter. I lived and worked in London for forty years but I was definitely born in Liverpool.Originally posted by Cormack74 View PostBeefy's dad worked for Westland in Yeovil. Wonder what he was doing living on the Wirral?
I just looked it up and apparently that Andy McLuskey of OMD was also born there. When I was visiting Liverpool in the eighties I saw him in Thursaston, over the water, with a very fit bird who turned out to be Miss Great Britain at the time

No I realize that, I just wondered if the Botham's were on a visit or something when young Beefy turned up since so far as I'm aware neither Westland's nor Petter (from whom they derived IIRC) have (had) any factories north of Bristol.
It's of no consequence RS, just idle curiosity on my part.
