Was supposed to start but got injured in training/build up (not quite sure), so was dropped to the bench.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It'll make a difference. Not like Pulis has some deep rooted hatred of Liverpool like Fat Sam either. They might be tough to beat but don't really have the type of player who can hurt us. Don't envisage it being as difficult as yesterday was.

        What a move by Rodgers...
I think it was pretty understandable, nothing too out of thin air. We needed to wrest that bit of midfield control from them. His sharpness surprised me though. Lucas

I wonder if it was premeditated with big phil here to watch them, 45 mins each to prove their point

Pressure? Not for Rodgers as he's 'loving every minute of it'

Brendan Rodgers has vowed he can handle the pressures of the Premier League title run-in as the Liverpool FC boss insisted: “I’m loving every minute of it.”

The Northern Irishman has masterminded a remarkable 14-game unbeaten league run since the turn of the year which has taken the Reds into top spot.

Rodgers has remained a calm and composed figure throughout and he says that won’t change whatever happens over the final five matches.

Challenging for the title maybe a new experience for him, but he boasts the same fearless attitude he has drilled into a group of players who have already exceeded all expectations this term.

“I’m loving every minute of it,” Rodgers told the ECHO.

“This is brilliant. I may not have been in this position before but I have been in football a long time.

“This is only my fifth year as a manager but I’ve been stood on the touchline coaching for 20 years. I am just really enjoying seeing us develop as a team.

“When you play and work for a club like Liverpool there is always pressure every day of your life.

“I walk past the European Cup every day when I walk into the training ground and I know there are another four in the museum at Anfield. That can be pressure but only if you let it be pressure.

“For us as a team, this is why we work hard. We’ve worked hard all season to be in this position. Now we’re there we’re going to going to fight and work even harder to stay there.

“I’ve been through much worse things in my life than being in the title race at the top of the Premier League. It’s insignificant in terms of some psychological things which have gone on.

“This feeling of working well and winning games is great and long may win it continue.”

The stage is set for a mouthwatering showdown when title rivals Manchester City visit Anfield on Sunday.

A 10th successive league victory would put Liverpool just four wins away from ending their 24-year wait for domestic glory.

As preparations for the City clash get underway, Rodgers knows the role of inspirational captain Steven Gerrard will be vital.

The experienced midfielder is enjoying a rich vein of form and was the Reds’ outstanding performer in Sunday’s 2-1 win at West Ham.

“Steven’s importance has been from the first day I came in here,” Rodgers added.

“He has been brilliant. He’s a real leader and a real pillar within the squad. He’s a wonderful role model for any young player.

“The quality of his passing is sensational. Steven is a player who could play anywhere on the football field and his leadership would come out. There are very few players you could say that about.

“If you look at how he deals with pressure moments, not many deal with them better than Steven. He is really enjoying it and rightly so. This is where we want to be and where Liverpool ought to be.”

I wonder if he’d be enjoying it as much if that f*cker Ferguson was still there. You know that cunt would be going on about our penalties and criticising Suarez at every opportunity, so I wonder if Rodgers would have reacted.

The Mourinho mind games have been great though, just keep telling everybody how **** you are until the players start believing it themselves.

Wouldn't surprise me if Fungus doesn't give an interview and mention us to try and **** with the players heads.

Since his fiction novel, sorry auto-biography, where he slaughtered Gerrard and Henderson no one gives two ****s what he thinks.

Reds boss Rodgers hangs out with Tinie Tempah at gig... but is Liverpool title challenge Written In The Stars?

                    By GRAEME YORKE

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers escaped the pressure of the Premier League run-in as he was given a Pass Out for a Tinie Tempah concert.

The Reds chief was even pictured backstage with the London-born artist at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

And Rodgers will be wondering if his title bid is Written In The Stars as Liverpool close in on their first league triumph in 24 years.

Rodgers declared himself a big fan of the chart sensation.

"Tinie is dropping some great records at the moment. He's got great flow and a wonderful repertoire of collaborations. He's a collaborative artist, which is essentially what I am - none of us work alone - so I can relate to him. He's a cool guy. I'm loving the more electronic feel to his latest output.

The Merseysiders are two points clear at the top of the table and could establish a seven-point lead over Manchester City with victory against their title rivals at Anfield on Sunday.
