You taking the piss right?Originally posted by -V- View PostSorry but were nowhere near ready for this season and it kicks off for us in 2 hours
It will be a big ask, but it looks he'd planned it, so let's see how we fare. After seeing us play vs Dortmund, I think Coutinho might well fill the void Suarez left. Probably not in terms of goalscoring at first, but work rate and creativity. Are we winning?

Not taking the piss at all, im totally serious. Don't get me wrong I am Brendan's biggest fan and ofcourse he can't say anything else in public but there is no way we are stronger this season and I don't see us fighting for the title either. We do have a more in-depth squad now but our first 11 is not going to be stronger and that will show.
We got lucky today. The fear factor that teams had when they faced us last season won't be there this time. Until we replace Luis Suarez or at least attempt to replace him we can't be anything but weaker.
We will be fighting for 4th this season unless we manage to sign a special striker. (Falcao please)

Interesting snippet from today's Echo. That was after the match against Southampton.
I noticed that our pitch was slow before, but never thought it would have been an issue with the watering system as it looks so pristine when you're next to it.The manager insists the Anfield playing surface was partly responsible for a display lacking tempo.
“Yes, maybe the fluency wasn’t there but we weren’t helped by the pitch,” he said.
“The pitch doesn’t help us at Anfield because the pitch is too slow. It’s not good at all. But there’s nothing we can do at this stage.
“The watering system is outdated so the speed of our game is sometimes slowed down compared to when we play on other pitches. The game was too slow for us.
“In terms of performance, I’m not worried at all. It will come.
Are we winning?
