He has nothing to prove to the majority of us fans. Only to the minority.Originally posted by ronanm View PostHave been pilloried on here before by saying I am yet to be convinced by him. Hope he succeeds but still a lot of questions.
His in-game management was once again a pleasant positive out of a disastrous day. Might not have fully worked but gave us something different.
He will get it right, like I said the majority of us fans have no doubts. Only the minority. One tit for another.

I don't think I'm a particularly negative poster who crawls out of the woodwork though mate. But today was worrying. That said I have faith in Rodgers and think that he will ultimately get it right. Hopefully in time to make this season a success.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostAnd so it begins, same old posters crawl out of the woodwork......

im replying on my bloody phone ffs as im out of the house. I'll reply in detail in a day or two when I have more time. Basically its completely unlike rafas stint where the net spend was a valid argument imo, with Rogers however, he's had top dollar to spend on individuals. Rafa had a huge turnover as he was dealing in the bargain basement, spending £30m on several players, with several leaving. This isn't the case with Rogers. Fergies net spend was **** all for a few seasons after they sold ronaldo and plenty of people here argued against its validity.Originally posted by Assassin View PostWhy am I not surprised you cant answer?SakhoPotatoes

Originally posted by cream View PostBit of an over-reaction, only 4 games in to the season and we've had a lot of ijuries to contend with. I'm sure it would've been a different story Sturridge, Allen, Johnson and Flanno had not have been injured.
The difference is people would've been moaning about Johnson, Allen and Flanagan even if there were an improvement on results.

All were regulars last season when we were destroying teams. Injuries have meant too many new players in the team at one time, caused a lot of disruption.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

It's 5 league games and 6 competitive. Of which we've won 3 and lost 3.
I don't think Allen played much last season? I don't think anyone is singling out Moreno or Manquillo as being the problem areas so I'm not sure how important those 4 players you mention are.
Maybe people are over reacting but I think everyone has good reason to be concerned. It's not just the number of defeats it's the manner of the defeats, indeed the only game where we've played well has been the Spurs game out of the 6.

Too many new faces in the team. We needed to introduce or phase players in to the team, too many at once will need time to gel.Originally posted by topscorer View PostIt's 5 league games and 6 competitive. Of which we've won 3 and lost 3.

To be fair, what does net have to do with quality of players brought in? If we've spend £150m-£200m as he stated, which may or may not be correct how does the amount we've sold players for affect the incoming players quality?Originally posted by Assassin View PostI'll ask you again. What part of £30 mill nett spend do you not understand?
He's saying, we've spent £150m-£200m on the players we have yet who can you say is world class or even very good?
The squad and team obviously suffer because we could have spent the same and kept Suarez for example and have a net spend of £100m. But yet again that doesn't impact the quality of player brought in for £150-200m.
Anyway for me, our midfield is too weak and our back 4 is a shambles either individually or as a collective, Lovren, so far has been nothing short of a liability and since Dortmund I haven't even heard him vocally.Vive la France
