Clutching if we think that Johnson or Flanno are going to save our season. We'll get better as players come back from injury but I don't think either of those should be starting games when fit.

Which is really saying something given Agger has had to go back to a lower paced league given his frailties and that Skrtel is absolute bobbins.

Keeper issues aren't helping either but we look utterly ropey at the minute.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I think to a certain extent, when you purchase International class defenders (Sakho and Lovren) for a combined £40m, you would think they would bring their own game intelligence from the experience that;s taken them to captaining their national sides, respectively.

Lovren is supposed to be a leader and organising the back 4. I believe Rodgers purchased him as a finished article that didn't need schooling but at the moment it looks like a bad buy. I still believe Lovren (and the team as a whole) just need to clear their minds and relax a bit. When you constantly read in the media that the defence is poor, it can get to you.

The last two games haven't been great but we've always, always struggled with West Ham (A), Villa (H), Tottenham (A), Man City(A), Southampton (H) which just happened to be our first 5 games.

. We can't be **** for so long with different combos in different formations and for it all to be down to the players.

Still a bit of both IMO

Flanno is our best fullback imo. Our form picked up when he came into the team.

I'd definitely have Flanagan as our first choice RB

Flanno is class. Unsung hero from last season. Sort of player you want vs West Ham away. I rate Moreno and Manquillo but I don't think they have the experience for tough away Premier League games just yet but I guess they have to learn at some point...

I disagree that he'd have made a huge difference yesterday. Maybe at right back, but if he was on the left I'm sure he'd have had a nightmare. Kouyate is the kind of player that gave him huge problems last season. When powerful, quick, hard running midfielders play out wide he had no answer. Which could be evident with how he was dominated by Diame and Sissoko last season.

It's always the players that are out that are hailed as the ones to solve our problems. They'll help but only one man can sort us out properly and thats the boss. Every player that started that game yesterday should be able to play to a good enough level to win it. The fact is every team we face looks capable of a cricket score and thats on the manager, the players he picks, where he puts them plus his coaching on the training field.

He ****ed up bad yesterday but we'd have probably still won if Sturridge was fit! Obviously the mood is **** after the last 2 league games but with Sturridge back I think we are capable of going on a run, hardly the most intimidating next 4 league games 3 of which are at home.

I dont really buy this cant organise a defence stuff either and I think we expect way too much from it, (not that yesterday was acceptable) but there was moaning on here about the defence after Spurs on their own ground with christ knows how many millions of pounds of attacking talent had just two clear chances and we kept a clean sheet! He has got a massive blind spot though with a certain centre back which is costing us hugely so I guess that falls under cant organise a defence I suppose.

Updated Skrtel stats yesterdays after his time out of the side and return by the way

62 games started, 87 conceded, 17 clean sheets. 1.40 goals conceded per game.
19 games not started, 14 conceded, 10 clean sheets. 0.73 goals conceded per game.

Skrtel defo but the bigger squad was supposed to allow Gerrard to be rotated yet we continue to play him every game, He looked knackered yesterday and unable to track players quite a few times. It's becoming a real issue. Obviously Can and Allen being injured doesn't help but the issue needs to be addressed.

He ****ed up at the start, but after only 20 mins he changed formation and we played OK from then on in, we just had issues putting it away.

Halftime he changed again and improved a bit more.

I think the players ****ed up tbh, we shouldn't have gone 2 down so quick, and the 3rd was just because we went all out for an equaliser.

Though at some stage you do have to lay blame at the manager for players performance, but tactically his only mistake was corrected very quickly.

Yeah he needs to manage him better bigtime, was gone by the end last night. That last goal summed it up, a stupid giveaway, he's exhausted and cant keep up, Skrtel doesn't even realise theres a guy off him until it's too late and goal.
