We are still defensively suspect to say the least. In fact we look worse than last season, and he promised that it would be sorted for this season. It has been a shambles tbh.

The signing of Lovren worries me, even though it is early days.

He made a good sub with Lallana, but then undone it all by sticking Lambert on when we needed the mobility of Borini. The last 15 mins or so we were too static up front and entirely predictable.

As much as I love Rodgers, I think he got it horribly, horribly wrong today in more than one instance - without taking away from a dire team performance.

I think Brenno needs to start really lambasting some of these players. The individual mistakes are just unacceptable. We were abysmal defensively last season and are somehow even worse this season.

I still think he's a good manager, but he needs to have a look at himself and the priorities in training for this current team. 6 a side games and emphasis on attack is great, but at some point time needs to be spent on defensive coaching.

His team selection and Lambert sub were ridiculous today as well. If we are team that supposedly emphasises attack, why slow things down by firstly starting Lucas, and then when we are looking more threatening on the attack (relatively) slowing that attack down by bringing on Lambert and taking off our most mobile striker. Big men up front against West Ham? That'll work. Farcical.

Not saying last season was a fluke but perhaps those who felt we would push on and challenge every season can see the point others like myself had that we may not get a better chance than last season. Gutted with how things have started and the most glaring deficiency from last season has remained uncorrected.
