Which is what I aluded too earlier in a post. We can moan about the strategy. I just think you use a poor choice of words if you are not moaning about money spent.

I've not. Ive moaned about them taking the cheap options. Lots of cheap options still costs a lot. The stadium is about approach to risk though, it could have been built, they just didn't see the financial return them in the short to medium term.

I"m sure they've been in contact throughout the season. I can imagine this meeting.

Gordon: So Brendan, that was a **** season do you agree?
        Rodgers: Yeah it was ****
Gordon: Promise me it'll be better next season?
        Rodgers: I promise!
Gordon: Oh, and about those young transfers, do ya reckon they'll be better next season?
        Rodgers: Totes
        Gordon: Awesome..high five!

Very flippant and your probably not far wrong but then few could argue that if Sturridge was fit all season we would have got Champs league this season.

From on owners point of view thats not a huge thing to rectify if all they want is champions league qualification.

I think the best we can do is to get behind whatever decision is made. At least we can say *we* gave 100%.

Who knows, those 'uninspiring' signings might be exactly what we need and we'll go onto a great season.

One thing is clear, we REALLY need a striker that scores regularly. I think Benteke might do well but Lacazette might be **** here. We just don't know.

I think Rodgers needs to have a bit of dignity. It's clear he wasn't happy with the constraints he had to work under last season especially the committee issues. So, if he is told he still has to work under the same constraints (that clearly made his job difficult) and that nothing is going to change, he should walk.

With Rodgers' position looking secure and an odd transfer window looming, what are posters' thoughts of the direction Rodgers is looking at next season?

Say we end up with Clyne, Milner and Benteke as first teamers; Do we think Rodgers has a new formation in mind? Is he going to continue with three at the back? Or is he looking to revert to 4-3-3?

                    What say you?

I say, if that is all we can look forward to, we need to do what FSG want, reassess our goals and expectations, start believing we are a top 10 club that every few years are lucky enough to qualify for CL.

The past is the past and it is where it should stay, accept we will never compete again properly. No decent player will want to come here knowing he wont play in the CL.

Once we accept this FSG level of mediocrity, life will become far more pleasant with less angst for all.

Its really hard to say, there is so much to fix from GK, defence, midfield, strikers. With Milner and Henderson we'll have a hardworking midfield but not alot of goals. He needs to add more players with guts and character, make Liverpool hard to beat for a start and bring some pride back into the jersey.

For me the spine of team he has too get right, if we look back at what Gerrard considered the best team he played in: Reina, Carra, Sami, Xabi, mascherano, Gerrard, Torres. All players with strong characters and could play a bit too.

No, he's a playmaker which is the area Gerrard occupied last season to great effect.

So just the six new players?

Wasn't part of the issue last season that we introduced too many new players to the squad / team?
