I can't even really have any hope for next season now. If this plays out like it looks, we've passed on 3 top quality managers and are stubbornly keeping the status quo. The only way this works is if the team comes out playing better than they did any time last season. Seems very improbable. I think I've completely turned on FSG. They don't have a clue about anything other than their finances. And now we get to see as fans do anything to convince themselves that everything is fine and our underwhelming signings will dominate.

Think I've read somewhere before that those markets are so small that even £50 could change it quite dramatically, not sure if I'm mistaken but if its true it would put an end to that one.Originally posted by Infadel View PostAgreed, but someone knows something and is willing/able to put enough money on it for the market to change.

Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool FC review: Chairman Tom Werner to arrive on Merseyside
15:45, 1 JUNE 2015 BY KRISTIAN WALSH
Liverpool FC chairman on his way as review into club's failures continues
Liverpool FC chairman Tom Werner will arrive on Merseyside in the next 48 hours as part of Brendan Rodgers' end-of-season review, as the fall-out to the club's disappointing campaign continues.
But the ECHO understands principal owner John W Henry will not be accompanying him.
The 6-1 defeat to Stoke on the final day of the season compounded an awful end to 2014-15 which saw Rodgers' side finish in sixth.
The club have insisted Rodgers' position is not under immediate threat despite that lowly finish, but the Reds boss still awaits to discover his fate and Werner's arrival is set to signify the next step of the process.
READ: The six questions Rodgers must answer to FSG
Rodgers, who is just 12 months into a four-year contract, looks set to be given the opportunity to convince the owners he can turn things around after a disastrous two months that saw Liverpool take just eight points out of the last 27 on offer.
His future will depend on the review, spearheaded by FSG Mike Gordon, with the Northern Irishman facing several uncomfortable questions over his failure to steer the team to Champions League qualification.
It is expected several aspects of the club will come under scrutiny, including the role of the transfer committee in last summer's business.
Rodgers' position may have strengthened with news Jurgen Klopp, previously linked with the Anfield job, is to take a break from football after his departure from Borussia Dortmund.
The German ended his reign with Dortmund with defeat in the German Cup final against Wolfsburg, stating he is leaving football “until further notice”.
Former Reds boss Rafael Benitez, another manager out of contract this summer, is expected to be confirmed as Real Madrid manager this week.

you would be a very very poor man if you followed the market odds on managers, I cant even remember a time when they got it right......SO much so i am sure its the bookies that leak the information so all the muppets lump on!!!Originally posted by Infadel View PostAgreed, but someone knows something and is willing/able to put enough money on it for the market to change.

We've passed on 3 top quality managers?? When did that happen!

The fact that Werner and possibly Henry have come over for this review leads me to believe Rodgers is gone as previously we heard that it was Mike Gordon conducting the review who's a big Rodgers supporter, the fact the other guys have flown in makes me think there is more going on and it's far from a straight forward review. He's also odds on now with bookmakers to get the sack which in itself doesn't mean anything but it's interesting the tide of opinion has changedKurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

Having your bosses fly in from the states for what was previously a routine end of season review is definately not a good sign.
I recall being fired a few years ago, and I only began to panic when my boss unexpectedly announced that he was flying up 'for a chat' in a few days time.Modifying post.

I still don't think they'll sack him, just can't see it happening.

The obvious inference is that Klopp was interested and we've told him we won't have a vacancy. But that might be bollocks. FSG's way or working would probably involve a drawn out process of identifying multiple candidates and extensive interviews again, approaching one guy and offering him the job probably isn't their style.
I think he'll stay, but I think it will be for the wrong reason. They'll keep him because he's the cheap option and is compliant.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years
