well why would a star player sign for Liverpool when our current manager would more than likely bench you for arguably our most prestigious match of the season (Real Madrid away).

I bet Gerrard was absolutely fuming that day as captain

If he'd had the balls to bench him all season we (and he) may have been in a better position.

Yep, I reckon Brendawg is going to stay. My prediction, as well as everyone else's; Klopp replaces him before January.

Brendan Rodgers: Liverpool owners to meet manager this week

                By Ben Smith
                BBC Sport
Liverpool co-owners Tom Werner and John W Henry will arrive on Merseyside this week for talks with Reds manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Americans are expected in the city on Tuesday and are expected to meet their manager as part of his end of season review on Wednesday.
Sources close to Werner and Henry have consistently played down suggestions Rodgers' job is under immediate threat.
However, the situation will become clearer following this meeting.
Rodgers was appointed as Liverpool manager exactly three years ago to the day.

The likes of Klopp, Ancelotti, Benitez, Guardiola, Simeone will be joining the circus of managerial changes next summer, with Manchester City, Bayern Munich definitely to become available, with question marks over Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid etc.

Quite right, I got dogs abuse on here for saying exactly that around September time.

I've said this before as well, lets see how he does without Carra and Gerrard in his squad, in terms of having to manage their influence.
2 opinionated legends of the club who's every move was covered and reported on as they both did a farewell tour.
The only manager who has coped/ended fading legends careers without stick is Ferguson.

Even Rafa tried it with John Terry only for him to play all 38 PL games for them this season and be arguably their most important player

If Rodgers stays for this season is the 1st season where it's his team, his squad, any inherited players left aren't of interest to the media so the weekly questions about is Gerrard going to be in the squad, is he going to play, where is he going to play, isn't he amazing, what is your relationship like etc... won't be asked

No excuses for him, Europa League doesn't start until September (I think) and the early rounds should be straightforward.

With Klopp taking a break there is more pressure on him, start the season slowly and we are (arguably) the biggest club that might be keen to change the manager before Christmas.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Quite interesting that they're apparently coming here for the "review" gives perhaps the impression they've other things going on here at the same time ?

Some of his team selections this year suggest he doesn't watch football even inside of Anfield let alone outside.
