I suspect there are enough flops chosen by all parties concerned to make sure that list will never see the light of day.

edit: probably tucked away where no one will ever find it, in one of Brendans envelopes.

I know you were not responding to my point, but which transfers hit the ground running for any of the top eight clubs? I think most of those transfers came abroad, we don't need premiership proven, that's my point.

It's a good looking question. There are various players you've listed above that done well without finding any real consistency. Costa, Sanchez, Fabregas are the obvious ones.

I think the answer is as simple as what Shaggy said earlier ...

You could ask how many transfers are successful in the first place? A lot require a year to get used to their new surroundings, a new language, a change in lifestyle, etc. This gives me hope that Markovic, Can, Moreno will improve next season.

Where we made the mistake last season was beefing out the squad when we should have made two or three big buys.

I think that was our mistake for the two last summers.

If we get a DOF I say hire the one who states he will personally iron glove slap everybody across the face that was involved with the balotelli transfer.

We paid what £10m for Origi and we will have to pay a fee for Ings (some suggestions as much as £6m)

There are also big rumours locally we are getting Garbutt from Everton which will again be set by tribunal (£4m is being suggested)

The risk is that these low price deals wont contribute either way to our first team so they are not needed and will be shipped out after one season.

Garbutt - is this the strength and collective talent that has been so poorly been assembled as part of this so called transfer committee, if so what a mess.
Is this joke, we can't scout or even pay anymore for a left back or another position for that matter, is anyone telling me we had to wait for these men that we pouched from Man city to come and work as part of a so called effective scouting / transfer committee, dear me, deR me

posted about this a while ago, As got some info from a close source . One worry is that he is wanting guaranteed game time....he has offers on the table from West Ham, Newcastle, Real Sociedad, Liverpool and a German club.

From what i have heard he is gettting a bit billy big balls, Got his brother a job with his new agent (Part of the agreement) So he is also being a flash harry in Liverpool, Dad is not impressed!!

15k a week is the offer from Everton which he is happy with but wanted guaranteed game time. Baines has been injured last couple of games and Oyviedo was also injured and Garbutt still didnt play, So reckon he is on the way out.

I actually think we have been incredibly lucky. Despite a huge cash influx the best teams in the division are still mediocre compared to the best teams in Europe. Some how they haven't left an insurmountable gap. AT some point they surely have to reach some level of competence.

If players wanted guaranteed game time before they signed I'd just convince them that they'd get it and put them on the bench if I had to. Same with Milner.

too many people on forums want the flashy high profile signing but often these players need time to settle, getting played out of position, cant adjust to the area/lifestyle/telly or some other ****ing excuse.
the run of the mill players that were mentioned [the ones forum members would go nuts at] would all dig in and give more effort that some of the fancy ****ers.

im sick of us signing players who cant just play football cos they are a ****ing 'specialist' in just one small area of the pitch about 20 yards square.
you cant be zidane over there, but troare over here. just **** off you limp wristed wage thieves

Johnson, Gerrard, Toure and to a lesser extent Lucas, we're always pretty much going to have to be looked at this summer. In addition to them we've got a host of other positions because last season was a disaster. £100m wouldn't even touch the sides with this squad,
I would much rather sign 2 or 3 good players each summer, that applies this summer, I would rather keep the likes of Lovren as squad players next year than get rid and be looking for another player on top of that spreading the budget around further.

Johnson and Toure barely play so I wouldn't even bother trying to replace them like for like.
