It's a good looking question. There are various players you've listed above that done well without finding any real consistency. Costa, Sanchez, Fabregas are the obvious ones.

Whatever happened to judging each player on his merits? I hate all this "let's go for Prem proven" or whatever black and white avenue they seem to want to pursue. Just get the best players we can get, how difficult can it be?

That's why we are looking at players like Milner and Ings, add in Origi and that's 3 players in with very little outlay. Spend the real money on real talent.

The risk is that these low price deals wont contribute either way to our first team so they are not needed and will be shipped out after one season.

From what i have heard he is gettting a bit billy big balls, Got his brother a job with his new agent (Part of the agreement) So he is also being a flash harry in Liverpool, Dad is not impressed!!

15k a week is the offer from Everton which he is happy with but wanted guaranteed game time. Baines has been injured last couple of games and Oyviedo was also injured and Garbutt still didnt play, So reckon he is on the way out.

How many critical summers have we had.

Every summer appears to be a critical summer.

I actually think we have been incredibly lucky. Despite a huge cash influx the best teams in the division are still mediocre compared to the best teams in Europe. Some how they haven't left an insurmountable gap. AT some point they surely have to reach some level of competence.

If players wanted guaranteed game time before they signed I'd just convince them that they'd get it and put them on the bench if I had to. Same with Milner.

too many people on forums want the flashy high profile signing but often these players need time to settle, getting played out of position, cant adjust to the area/lifestyle/telly or some other ****ing excuse.
the run of the mill players that were mentioned [the ones forum members would go nuts at] would all dig in and give more effort that some of the fancy ****ers.

im sick of us signing players who cant just play football cos they are a ****ing 'specialist' in just one small area of the pitch about 20 yards square.

Problem is, everytime we splurge and spread the money around, we sign players that may not work out and as such they have to be replaced in addition to the ones getting on.

Johnson, Gerrard, Toure and to a lesser extent Lucas, we're always pretty much going to have to be looked at this summer. In addition to them we've got a host of other positions because last season was a disaster. £100m wouldn't even touch the sides with this squad,

I would much rather sign 2 or 3 good players each summer, that applies this summer, I would rather keep the likes of Lovren as squad players next year than get rid and be looking for another player on top of that spreading the budget around further.

Johnson and Toure barely play so I wouldn't even bother trying to replace them like for like.
