I agree to an extent, but we have a young team looking to our experienced players who can longer cut it at the highest level. There's no middle tier and we need to find the right blend.

When we lose Gerrard and Johnson, Skrtel will be our most experienced head ...

I think Markovic has reached the Europa semi and won two league titles, Coutinho has played in three countries, Sterling at a World Cup, Balotelli won cups and titles as well as Sturridge and Johnson. The players who here last season have the experience of a title chase and the big games that come with that. Those players played in a semi against Chelsea earlier in the season, how many big games have Villa played in?

We have experience in that team, I think what we need is something else, maybe more quality and cohesion.

I'd take Rafa, Klopp or Boer if offered, I think those managers would also help with the recruitment to be honest.
        * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Frightening isn't it, everyone is so quick to criticise Lovren yet he was ok yesterday, certainly no worse than Skrtel who was scared of Benteke.

Also for those turning their noses up at Milner as not being good enough.
He is exactly what we need right now.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

There was no plan b yesterday. Changing formation isn't any good when you have absolutely no answer to handling Delph, Grealish and Benteke all game. And then hoofball for the final 5 minutes. Sterling pushed out left and made even more ineffective for the whole second half. Terrible management and "tactics" from Rodgers.

Of course there was a Plan B, we changed formation, personnel and tactics nearly all game.

Yet still looked exposed every time Villa attacked, lacked little threat up front and couldn't hardly get control of midfield until they stood off for the final 10 minutes? Worked out well.

Unfortunately we seemed to go all the way from Plan A > Plan Z then settle on Plan Lambert for the last two bloody minutes!
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

I didn't say they worked, but to say he had no Plan B when - like Yozza says - he pretty much went to Plan Z, is false. He clearly tried to tinker during the game and tried numerous things, none of which worked.

I would even say Delph would be an improvement in our midfield

Again I dont think its age

Henderson and Allen are what 24 or 25 and have played for us for 3 seasons now, and had experience prior to this

Markovic and Balotelli have both got reasonable experience at Champions Lague

Its not as if these kids have zero experience they have all played for years

For me it personality and mentality more than experience

Sign some ****ing men that show desire and want to compete

Delph is only 25 and he almost singlehandedly bossed Gerrard, Allen and Henderson

I dont even think hes that great but yesterday he ****ing killed the players we had out, alongwith Tom Cleverley who I have never rated

the way to asses how good delph is not to judge how well he has done against a poor midfield. you need to see how he competes against a better set up and see if he copes well.

he might be more of a battler than what we have but he has often looked poor against the better teams.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I still think he'd be an improvement

As I said I dont think him and Cleverley are that great but they owned us

It might be better to have an average midfield than an absolutely piss poor one
