exactly what I was thinking. Good/great players can adapt. Herrera at Man U is a good example (unfortunately).

I would love to have a list, whereby each one of our signings was accredited to a certain member of staff, or the one that pushed the purchase more than others. I swear we could determine whats wrong with the club there and then.

Dalglish to hold talks with Anfield owners at end of season over Kop future

Talks: Kenny Dalglish will discuss his Anfield future at the end of the season
      |

Kenny Dalglish has revealed will discuss his Anfield future with the club's owners at the end of the season.

The Scot, who is not under any immediate pressure from Americans John Henry and Tom Werner, will keep to his pre-planned schedule of assessing the Reds' season once the Barclays Premier League is over despite Saturday's 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea.

With the Merseyside outfit anchored in mid-table, their final two matches - against Chelsea at Anfield on Tuesday and at Swansea next Sunday - will have nothing at stake but pride.

However, there will be no summit meeting with Henry to discuss a season which has brought some silverware in the Carling Cup.

But while Dalglish failed to get the Reds nearer to breaking back into the Premier League's elite, it is understood he will be given more time to turn his team into top-four challengers.

'The owners will do the same as us,' said Dalglish.

'They will sit and analyse the season when it is finished.

'That is what we said before a ball was kicked and there is no reason to change that.'

The major positive for Liverpool on Saturday was the performance of substitute Andy Carroll, who almost managed to turn the game on its head.

Carroll scored one excellent goal, when he turned John Terry inside out before rifling past Petr Cech, came agonisingly close to grabbing an equaliser and then had a shot turned away by Branislav Ivanovic that would have brought the Merseysiders level.

It was a performance that is sure to have been filtered back to new England boss Roy Hodgson.

And allowed Dalglish to underline exactly how much faith he has in the much-maligned forward.

'We have been happy with what big Andy has done since he came to Liverpool,' said the Scot.

'If the ones who were critical of him are going to be fair and honest, they might have to re-write their pieces.

'If they don't want to do that, fine. It's not my problem.

'It doesn't change our opinion. He came on and lifted the team. He got the goal and was unlucky not to get another one

I wonder if Kenny was sacked in November too.

I think Rodgers will stay. As I said last night the fact that all four articles I posted were very similar suggests to me that FSG have briefed the media. The articles also suggest his future is not under threat which gives me hope he'll be given another season. I imagine there will be a change to the current structure and whether that means Rodgers responsibilities are diluted I don't know. However, providing he is happy with what is likely to be imposed on him I reckon he'll be still here come the start of the new season. By the way interesting that the owners won't be attending the meeting unlike the time they sacked Dalglish. They attended that meeting.

If he is still here, we can write off next season too then. Frees a year up I guess

Maybe BR wont want to stay under new guidelines ?

Thinking about it logically, he showed them his dossier for success last time, so should be easy enough to point them to the page we're on now, under: 'Slight rut', flick forward a few and then they can see success is just a chapter away.

The exact same thing happened with Kenny, and they binned him. Andy Heaton's confirmed it's Tom Werner (not by name, but by quotes) who is briefing the press, and he did the same to one of the Boston Red Sox coaches too.

My honest opinion is that the football is marginally better than when Kenny was sacked.

I don't think Brendan deserves another season after failing on seven fronts this season but I wouldn't say we look completely lost like we did at the end of the Benitez, Hodgson and Dalglish tenures.

I didn't see that. Interesting indeed.

We shouldn't though, the club is in a very different state now to when those managers left, we either had two cowboy con men owners or brand new ones that bought a club they didn't intend to and unsure on their football feet, stabilty and good ownership was meant to reap rewards, constant if not large progression being one of them.

Not sure what you're trying to say? So you think he should definitely go as there is stability around the club and he has no excuses?

Too much talk in the press now.

No doubt he'll be asked some questions on the run-up to Sunday

One thing in Brendans favour is he is so verbose he is likely to be able to talk his way out of any situation. Mind you so was Roy.

He's under pressure no doubt, but no surprise, want him to stay or go, the undeniable truth is we have had a disappointing season and a shocking end of season. If these questions were not being asked of him, I'd be really worried.

No, I'm not feeling under any pressure. Other than the pressure any manager would feel when managing an exceptional group of players at a club of this quality. This meeting has been scheduled for months, and I've no problem with either Tom, John or Mike, they are great guys and hugely successful men, but more than that, it is their quality as human beings that I really admire.
