I love how pumped he gets when we score. Love it! He reminds me of shanks with every goal. It's a beautiful thing

All that freaking matters right now is, that he's got us playing brilliantly for most games and gotten us much more mentally stronger. We might drop points now and then, but **** me at rather thrash spurs and gunners and have the frustrating wba draw etc. than having all of them being a close and controlled game as we have had a tendency of during the past decade without any guarentee of result!

Love the stuff happening at the moment, and I believe we have a seriously talented manager in charge right now.

Of the next generation of managers, those who will be around for the next 20 years, he is the outstanding candidate. No one else comes close. He may not win anything for three years. But in time I think he will.
          Oh I don't know.

Next year will be a big year - the CL will be a big challenge for him, especially the first time, and if I'm honest I expect him to make a few mistakes. But he does look like he will be an outstanding manager in the medium to long term.

He's doing really well - ahead of expectations for me. If we finish in the top four this season then he's already achieved the minimum expectations of a Liverpool manager. I didn't think we'd do that until next season. He needs serious backing this summer if we're going to compete in the league and (hopefully) the champions league next season. I like the way we're doing things, Rodgers is doing a brilliant job.

Rodgers is teaching the Premiership* how to play with two strikers.

Having two playerss the calibre of Suarez and Sturridge obviously helps, but how many managers have shoe-horned players all over the park to try and accommodate another attacking threat that doesn't have a detrimental affect to their midfield?

                * The world.

And for Brendan, He said a few games ago that his own objective when he 1st took over was for us to compete for CL places next year
                  RIP IRWT post/rant, best ever

Yes, there are encouraging signs but don't get too carried away. His mannerism's appear similar to some of his predecessor's but that's where the similarity ends for me. We're playing some great football at times. Get 4th and we'll see what happens. Substance and style pls

I think that if we get CL football we all need to stay grounded, the last time we were in it we had one of the best European football managers in Rafa. He knew the CL in and out and thats why we always did so well.

Obviously, Rodgers hasn't got that experience, so we might have a few blips along the way added to the fact that our coefficient will be buggered and we'll end up with some top quality teams in our group I'll be disappointed but not surprised if we end up in the Europa League.

Rodgers has no experience of European football while previously Rafa was a master of it, Rafa was able to manage the 2-legged ties by being solid away from home (play for a 0-0 or try to keep it tight and grab an away goal), I don't think Rodgers and/or this team can play like that. So it would be interesting to see what we would do if we make the CL, especially as our co-efficient means we would get a very difficult group, that said whatever pot we are in (3 or 4) we will be the team in there that no-one wants to draw.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It doesn't mean he won't take that competition by storm either. What we have under Rodgers isn't a copycat manager but one who is his own man and is turning heads. I see no reason why if he plays his way he can't be successful on whatever stage he wants.

I wish we'd pay lesser opponents less respect away from home. Going at them like a pack of wolves obviously suits our current crop of players and I hope we adopt that tactic against Fulham on Wednesday, regardless that it's away from home.

We won't take the CL by storm at first but that's nothing to do with Brendan. We don't have enough depth and quality in the squad to fight on all fronts next season so I'd be happy with getting out of the group for a first season.

We need massive summer investment to keep our level in the league while being competitive in the CL.

I'm not saying that he won't do well, I'm just pointing out that the managers who have done well with us in Europe in recent years Rafa and Houllier, have had very different approaches to Rodgers and I have no idea how our current brand of football would do in Europe, my instinct is that we would tear some times apart at home (as there are similarities in our style to the thrashing of Real Madrid and the high tempo start we made against Juventus in Rafa's era), but I think we could struggle away from home (as we have arguably been doing away from home in the league at times this year). If this is correct and where it would 'average out' to I have no idea, but it could be one hell of a ride

My main concern though is about having a big enough squad to do justice to both competitions and the players not tiring too much, as at the moment the only area of the pitch with have strength in depth is in defence, we need more (quality) players in the midfield and attacking areas.

You and G are absolutely spot on about the squad depth being critical. I think you're right that next season we'll want to push on even more in the league and cement a top 4 finish again. I think he'll get money to spend, I'd rather we continued the continental way and spent hugely on developing youth to play the Liverpool way. Signings have been hit or miss as to whether they can fit in
