He told BBC Sport: "It's always sad when a manager loses his job - and Michael has done an excellent job - but they feel they have had to make a change," he said.
"It's a real special football club," added Rodgers. "They've made the correct decisions over a decade to get from League Two to being an established Premier League team."
Garry Monk has been put in charge in Laudrup's place and Rodgers said he had managerial potential.
"He was a wonderful captain for me - very loyal, very generous as a skipper - and I have got every confidence that, in time, he's going to be a manager.
"Gary is going to be a very good manager."

    What a prick.

Well, expecting Chris to use sarcasm tags is like expecting Bender to use repost tags - it'd be a bit redundant

Yeah, in hindsight. Ceefax headline and quote distorted it a bit and I thought the same once I heard the whole interview.

At least it gave Chris's blood pressure a welcome jolt

Although I started reading it without seeing who posted and was gearing up for a suitable riposte until I realised
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

I'm now his biggest fan when it comes to his approach to the game. Keeps correcting his mistakes and evolving this team into one that can seriously challenge for the title once defensive personnel and depth stop holding it back.
