No code has to be inserted here.Fergie hasn't won it as much as I thought.

Also, the run of Moyes, Hodgson and Pardew in 3 out of 4 years is LOL worthy

Edit: Fergie has won the Premier League one 11 times. Maybe thats what I was thinking off

Remember when we won a treble, three ****in Cups, and George Burley won Manager of the Year.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Similarly though, Pellegrini did win 2 trophies this season.

I know 'more money', 'bigger squad' etc, but same argument would apply to Houllier/Burley.

I think in both cases it just went to the manager who exceeded all expectations in the league.

"I don't want to put a figure on how many but I would rather have one or two absolute top players than seven that might not help us," he told Liverpool's website.

"It's about the quality. We can't be going into the Champions League this year with doubts about players.

"We have to be going in knowing what the players' capacity to play is and their capabilities."

And Rodgers admits that he wants his deals done sooner rather than later.

"Ideally you would want to get things done beforehand but it is difficult because transfers are so complex," he said.

"The World Cup does make it difficult but the club and ourselves have been preparing for quite a few months now so we will try and get the business done as early as we can."

Rodgers also believes it will be easier to integrate new players due to the fact most of the squad already know how he likes things to be done.

"Two years ago, when I came in, I was looking to introduce new ideas but a lot of the players weren't there because of the European Championship," he said.

"That affected the start of the season. At least this summer we have the principles bedded in place and the players that come in will be the profile we want. It should be better for us this summer."

There is a pretty unsurprising pattern emerging from that list with the exception of 2002 and 2004.

Don't know where else to put this but this season our TV revenue went from 43 to 97mill.

Another plus for playing good football.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has signed a new deal at Anfield as a reward for leading the club back into the Champions League.

Rodgers agreed terms shortly before the end of the season had has now penned what is understood to be a four year deal, keeping him on Merseyside until 2018.

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said the contract was recognition of Rodgers successfully applying Fenway Sports Group vision for the club, which narrowly missed on the Premier League title a fortnight ago.

Rodgers said he believes the groundwork has been completed in his first two seasons and he expects the improvements to continue.

Rodgers signs new long-term LFC deal

Fenway Sports Group today announced that Brendan Rodgers has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool Football Club, rewarding the great progress that has been made over the last two seasons.

Today's announcement brings further stability to the club, securing the services of one of the brightest managerial talents in the game as Liverpool continues to develop its on-pitch performance.

Rodgers helped secure a return to Champions League football at the end of a remarkable 2013-14 campaign, guiding the club to a second-place finish in the Barclays Premier League.

Principal owner John Henry and chairman Tom Werner today jointly said: "We are very fortunate to have a hugely talented individual leading our football performance and in whom we place our trust to deliver the vision we share for Liverpool Football Club.

"Brendan is at the heart of what we, as an ownership group, are trying to achieve on the pitch. This season has reaffirmed everyone's belief that we can bring football success to Liverpool and we are all committed to working together to achieve that.

"Players and supporters have made it clear how important Brendan is to our success and so to have him commit to us for the long term is a great boost for everyone going forward."

Rodgers said: "I am both humbled and privileged to be offered the chance to extend my stay at this great club. I am very happy to build on the foundations we have built over the last two years and now we move onto the next phase which I believe will be as exciting, challenging and rewarding.

"I would like to place on record my thanks to the players and staff, who have been absolutely brilliant for me since the day I started at this great football club. I am grateful to our owners and senior management team who have supported me and who share my vision of how we can progress on the field.

"Finally, I must thank the supporters who are at the heart of everything we do here. I am honoured every day to lead this team and I thank the fans for their continued support as together we strive to bring success back to Liverpool Football Club.
