For the next two games i'd be really concentrating on being tight at the back and not getting stuffed. Two hammerings and the pressure would really be on.

We were today, just an individual mistake by a young lad, which will happen. We were also solid v Hull and Everton. We are generally looking a lot better at the back. But we are struggling for the right balance and individual players aren't performing. Couts was great when he came on v Hull. Today? Useless. And he's not an isolated case.Originally posted by alonso14 View Postwe arent capable of being solid.Forwards.......

Everyone expects to get beat twice. Nothing to lose there. Today was a blow, I think we needed a win to keep our heads above water. After Chelsea we're going to have to really get some wins together to get back in the mix. Thankfully Danny will be back by then. Just in time I guess.Originally posted by G View PostFor the next two games i'd be really concentrating on being tight at the back and not getting stuffed. I think signings are only part of the problemOriginally posted by alonso14 View Postin brendans defence, we had to fill out the squad because it wasnt big enough. but you cant do that and bring in top quality (im not talking about adam lallana who i like) at the same time.
this year the squad is bigger, but the next two transfer windows we have to buy quality like reus, gundogan etc... we already have the quantity.

I think hes a fool to tear up a system that worked to go back to a system that didntOriginally posted by alonso14 View Posthe tried his patient system in the first few months of his first year and we were utter dross, then coutinho and sturridge came along and we transformed into a counter attacking team. this is at complete odds to his keep ball vision.
last season we continued with this very direct style of play but it was never his vision on football. this season we bought in 2 wide players in markovic and lallana to add to coutinho and sterling.
why would you have four players for one position if mario and daniel are the starting pair. i believe what we are seeing now is what rodgers is trying to implement - his 433, with one up top and 2 out wide but it hasnt worked for us.
Also playing Mario upfront as a lone striker is a fools errandBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Maybe "fool" was the wrong choice of wordsOriginally posted by RoboKop View PostFool. Strong words Lec.
I think its a mistake and I have thought the system isnt right in some of the games we have won. Other than Spurs were we looked great and played the system from last season the rest its looked ropeyBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I don't understand why he has abandoned the formation that brought us so much success last season. Playing one up top has never really worked for us under Rodgers. Two up top has. Just because we sold Suarez? It's stupid reasoning.
As far as I'm concerned it all goes back to the summer. We got the strategy wrong and we got the recruitment wrong. In my opinion there is absolutely no defending it.

His interviews are starting to grate. He's talking about our passing being good which it clearly was not... we relied on Gerrard's long balls. Then he mentions about us not having anything in the final third... **** man the reason why we had nothing in the final third is because of the way he set us up.
I like Rodgers but it's a lot got to do with the way he sets us up & the players he is insisting on playing.
