The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Rodgers is digging his own grave here, every chance he'll go by Christmas if he doesn't sort it out.
Not that I want him out or am saying he should be sacked just that if we're miles of top 4 then FSG may be tempted to get rid.The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

"Exactly! Doing what we've done the last time and the 17 times before that will be the last thing the Germans will expect!"

As someone said on anther forum Rodgers can't blame the committee because when he was entrusted with money he spent it on Allen, Borini and really wanted Ashley Williams and Clint DempseyOriginally posted by danperkins View PostIf by some miracle FSG gave Rodgers 30 or 40 plus player sales...would people trust Rodgers to spend it wisely? Not sure I would.

The results over the last couple of games isn't an issue for me, any team in the world could face Chelsea and Real Madrid in successive games and come away without a single point. They're both exceptional sides.
I do however take issue with a few things. Firstly, I don't agree with the line up today. I think he could've given the players from Tuesday night another chance but when it came down to it, in an important game he's resorted to mostly the same lads who've let us down so much already this season. I agreed with his choice in the CL, but alas it does seem like he rested these players for today's match.
I think that 3 years down the line and £215m spent, its a really poor state of affairs that when Brendan thinks we're not creating enough he has to resort to bringing on the likes of Allen and Borini. Its also an appalling situation that we find ourselves in when, considering the money spent, we have 3 strikers who we probably couldn't sell for £25m as a combined package.
Looking throughout the entire squad there is a monumental lack of class, Rodgers has so much riding on a handful of players, purchased for a premium, who collectively have yet to show the consistency or quality required for this club to move in the right direction. There have been glimpses of hope, with Moreno and Cann, but these are simply minor flashes, which half of me thinks have been amplified by us because we're clutching to anything slightly positive with their play in order to reassure ourselves that things are not that bad.
There's a lot more wrong at this club than an injured Sturridge. Whilst he'll surely turn in with a few goals on his return, I fear that there's every chance that he too will be sucked into the psyche of a group of individuals that are so low in confidence. Sturridge is not a leader and he is not going to fill that glaring gap in the middle of the park or the calamitous state of disarray at the back. This needs to be addressed by Rodgers in January, but on recent form, will FSG back him?SakhoPotatoes

He also wanted Lovren according to ShaggyOriginally posted by marcus50bucks View PostAs someone said on anther forum Rodgers can't blame the committee because when he was entrusted with money he spent it on Allen, Borini and really wanted Ashley Williams and Clint Dempsey
Neither Rodgers nor the committee fill me with confidenceBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

He finished 7th in his first season. If he finishes 7th this time he'll be sacked. It's top 4 or bust for Rodgers.Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostIIRC Brendan's first few months in the league here were even worse than Hodgson's but he gradually turned it around, if he did it once before he's capable of doing it again.
