Anyone who thought we were going to swagger to the title this season is completely misguided. We came very close last season due to us clicking at the right time and having one of the best players in the world gel with his partner and a new young star. We were always going to struggle without Suarez. Gripes about how we didn't replace him are laughable... you can't replace him, so you have to strengthen other areas and hope it develops.
Rodgers and FSG have quite obviously bought for the long term, they bought potential, and unless they are all completely bonkers, must have assumed that this would be a difficult transition season. They could hope everyone gelled immediately and hit the ground running, but what's happening now is the more likely scenario playing out.
The problem is that despite the obvious difficulties we were going to have this season, people still expect a title challenge.
FSG are not going to sack Rodgers without at least giving him time to get his 100m clicking. Chopping and changing managers after a couple of bad results is not a winners plan.

I didn't expect a title charge and I'm sure you'll find that many on here didn't either.
What we didn't expect is to be playing negative **** football, not scoring any goals and conceding lots of goals (Actually this part I was expecting).Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Yep I didn't either..... I was hoping we could nick fourth but that's looking very iffy now unless we start pulling together a decent runOriginally posted by Slinky Skills View PostI didn't expect a title charge and I'm sure you'll find that many on here didn't either.

I thought we would fall back a touch in quality, but the scale of that decline has surprised me
Some of the circumstances we find ourselves in have been from misfortune / bad luck (Sturridges injury) some of the circumstances are self inflicted (tactics / team selections etc..)
I dont want Brendan sacked, I would worry about what we would do next if we were to go down that route. However I do feel that Brendan is not helping himself and more often than not this type of stubbornness ultimately ends up costing somebody their job
It would not surprise me at all if he was sacked, but I think they are more likely to hold off and review at the end of the seasonLast edited by Lecter; 19-11-14, 02:11 PM.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. Now is when we get to see what he's really made of, all the media pap and dossiers don't matter anymore, results do. Hopefully he'll get us sorted and this will all just be a short period that we can forget about. I've been flabbergasted at the teams he's put out a couple of times this season and hopefully as Lecter says the stubbornness doesn't come back and bite him in the arse. The team has got to stop playing like they don't know each other.Akloppalypse Now !

It depends if there are signs of progress. When FSG sacked Dalglish, Henry said the following:
'We had a very poor second half to the season last year. But we did not attribute that to Kenny as such, the things he and Steve (Clarke) were doing,’ Henry said before Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Roma in Boston last night.
‘The FA Cup would not have made any difference had he won it, no, no. We were 17th (in the form table) over the second half of the season and Liverpool should not be in that position.
I don’t place the blame on Kenny and Steve – but I think it was obvious to every Liverpool fan that something was wrong and something needed to be done in the current circumstances.’

The January window will give us an indication of how much support Brendan has from FSG.
If he is not backed in the transfer market in January with press leaks of how FSG are unhappy with the summer spending, then I think the chances of Rodgers being fired at the end of the season is very high.
