You are faking kidding me. AVB? Rodgers ****s on him from a great height.
      One tit for another.

From one joker to another. If Rodgers does get sacked we need to bring in someone with the right cv not the right age. Fenway are sticking to this young manager tripe.

                  Does he though?

AVB gets lambasted for his spells at Chelsea and Spurs but bigger names than him have gotten the chop at Chelsea.

His time at Spurs is a funny one because he ended his first season there breaking their premier league points record and only missing out on a CL place by a point. When he left Spurs they were sixth or seventh in the league and had a 100% record in the Europa league to that point. So basically he had a good season followed by an average half season.

At Porto he was excellent. His Porto team broke many club records and picked up a league title along with winning the Europa league and some cups.

By all accounts he is doing very well at Zenit now with some club records, good ones not bad ones , already having been broken in his short time there to date.

Given that he is three or four years younger than Rodgers and already has silverware, domestic and European, on his CV, I really don't see how Rodgers ****s on him from a great height right now.

I am far from being anti Rodgers, but when their track records are placed side by side then AVB looks to have the better one. I would also not be calling out for AVB if Rodgers were to get the boot. Think I would prefer someone a bit more experienced than AVB that has the right CV rather than the right age/image

I really dont want to see AVB squatting on our sidelines every game.

Bit disrespectful to Rodgers if true.

Must be made up Journalistic bull**** I'd have thought.

AVB's best season was when he had Falcao and Hulk operating in tandem. His record without Falcao,Hulk partnership looks very mediocre.

Similarly, Rodgers best season was with Sturridge,Suarez partnership. His record without his dynamic front two looks very mediocre also.

AVB has better profile as he won the league in Portugal, and the UEFA cup ( in an impressive manner). My guess is that Rodgers would have very well won the league in Portugal with a Falcao,Hulk partnership upfront too.

I don't think either of them are significantly better than the other.

Is it though? He did ok at Spurs. Got their highest ever PL points total, and was doing well in Europe when sacked. They were seventh in the league when he was sacked but does anyone really expect Spurs to finish too far from that position most seasons regardless of who their manager is?

At Zenit he has their win % up at over 70% for his time there to date which is a jump on what the men before him were averaging in the years before he arrived despite them being a big fish in a small pond in that league.

Just had a look at his Spurs win %, and he was at 55% for his time there when he was sacked, so not exactly shabby for a club of Spurs' level.

I don't think the guy is the finished article or anywhere close, but his track record for a guy who is only 37 years of age is pretty decent. He is also showing himself to be unafraid to try his luck in different countries which can only help him gain experience and become a more rounded manager in time.

It could be argued that Villa Boas has managed at clubs with more resources than those Rodgers was at prior to us, but it could also be argued that he has mostly managed at clubs where the expectations have been higher than anywhere Rodgers has managed save for us. With the exception of Chelsea he has done pretty well when at those clubs with high expectations, and it could be argued that his sacking at Spurs was a bit premature given the behind the scenes stuff that seemed to be going on there.
