I'm fully behind this idea and it's another gripe I had with FSG which will hopefully be addressed properly. However, this is something I'm interested in:



This appears to be someone who will ensure the type of players and philosophy is adhered should Rodgers leave. However, Rodgers has the final say. If the committee had agreed on Dempsey, then I'm sure FSG would've sanctioned it.

I do wonder who this 'senior figure' will be. Sounds like a 'non-DOF', you know, a Footballing Director. I would've said Kenny Dalglish was the man for that, but I guess that won't be happening.

I potentially like the idea of this plan but it is very dependent on the people involved, particularly this senior figure. It is hard to think of a really good candidate as there are a lot of factors to consider - eye for a player, willingness to be in a position where the manager could over rule you, coordination of a group with differing ideas, ideas of how players might work in England (on and off pitch). Obviously Kenny is out of the picture and you would imagine Rafa too.

I wonder if someone like Toshack or Evans would be considered as either part of the committee or in the former case as leader of the group. If he wasn't in management Paco Herrera might have been a good candidate. Personally I vote for Juanma Lillo.

Can't see it being offered to Rafa as he wasn't even spoken to about the managers job, I don't think he'd want to be anything other than a manager & I can't imagine BR would fancy working with him either.

Shame to be honest as I think he could be excellent in that role

Maybe Rafa's Priorities are changing? Or he realises he is never going to get the job he wants? The sort of Job Rafa wants and the sort he is being offered are miles apart at the moment and he won't work for the sake of working.

Although as you say there is no way of it being offered anyway.

I don't think Rafa would take a position like that anyway. I can't envision him being a member of a "technical committee" or whatever it's going to be.

I don't think he would even take the job of DofF if he is offered that position.

Imo Rafa still wants to manage the clubs and any type of advisory position would be something he could consider later on in his life but not now.
