Not sure how we can shoe horn likes of Couts, Sterling, Lallana, Markovic, Suso, etc all into a diamond. I don't see point of spending £25m or so on Markovic if we'll be deploying a system that will involve two strikers.

But then I guess why are we in for Bony if we are not going to play 2 up top? Our recruitment this summer seems to be a shot in the dark.

We need depth, the squad was threadbare last season so getting in quality alternatives is something we needed to do especially with the loss of Luis

Think the idea is to bring in another quality striker to back up for Sturridge, but we do have Lambert already. Rodgers is probably thinking of getting another one.

Playing with two defensive midfielders won't work in our system. We need one and two other higher up, covering the regista, which could be Gerrard or someone else. It worked well for most of last season after Gerrard adjusted to the role. We conceded stupid goals because we've been too attacking/gung ho at times when control was needed.

It's where he played last season as a deep lying midfielder, think you'll see Can get games there next season as well.

I think we should play with one defensive midfielder but (controversially ) I think we need better than Gerrard. Hopefully Can will develop into that player.

This again is where having energy in the team is going to be very important I.e. Henderson and Lallana, both put the miles in when playing and will be very important to us next season

Sterling will be the man to step up. He's going to be world class

He is still only 19 tho so I expect him to have up and down type of the season.

There is no doubt that he is improving all the time and next season should be no different but at this point in his career consistency is likely not to be there.
