Wow this forum is like what it must have been like when all those Labour MP's got together in the house of commons after the general election.

In other words... not a happy bunch (to say the least)

The thought of another season like the last is so uninspiring. I don't want to use the word "depressing". Rodgers has lost the fans, there's no doubt about that. Having said that if he somehow survives this summer (which is extremely unlikely) then we'll have to get behind him again and hope for the best. The football club is in a real mess, the cause needs to be identified for us to move forward. We need a complete shake-up again. I don't know who is responsible for what given that we seem to have a committee, but in the traditional sense the manager takes the responsibility. If the manager didn't have control then FSG need to deal with the people responsible for the mess (player recruitment, formations and tactics etc).

I think you've solved the problem there Shags, if they are starting every match saying "sorry boots, I've got to stand on you today" it certainly won't help.

The amount of briefings the club are giving the press on a daily basis is getting ridiculous.

I've no idea why we insist on playing everything out in public

Anyone know when Rodgers is due to fly over to Boston? He was at the LMA awards last night apparently. The silence from FSG regarding his future is deafening. Reading James Pearce's recent piece about us pressing ahead with player recruitment despite Rodgers future being in doubt, makes me feel as though all these links to potential signings is a way to deflect attention surrounding Rodgers position. They have gone from saying his job is safe, to it's not under immediate threat,to leaks about us making a move for Benteke. They want to change the story. Even Bascombe hinted the other day that stories of Rodgers being safe was to steer focus away from any pre-determined desire to sack Rodgers.

                  Agree completely with this.

FSG are no mugs, and just by reading this place, several other forums, and speaking to friends, the concensus seems to be 70 to 80% in the Rodgers out camp. They must know that not changing would polarise the fans and that replacing is the most pragmatic option.

These leaks are just buying time.

Has to be, at the moment it seems they are keeping him on, but they can't go on too long like that. They have to sack him or back him but having done neither might mean they are talking to others or evaluating their options and like you say buying some time.

Well our Tranfer Committee is in place so things like changing the manager is a painless process. Recruitment goes on regardless with only minor tweaks for the manager.

FSG have a profile of young and potential. With the odd experienced hand. Doubt we would see much change in that strategy with a new manager.

Would be great if he stays.

I think we need to revamp that effing committee as well, Rodgers shouldn't be left to shoulder all the blame himself, they should go as well, at least be re-assigned or something.

                              Benteke, Ings & Milner.

                              That thoroughly depresses me.

You'd imagine it wouldn't just be Rodgers that will be assessed
