I'm just not sure I trust Rodgers, this is the man that persisted with Johnson and Lovren in a back 4 with Gerrard sat on top of them for about 4 months! He even played Lucas advanced during that time it was just utterly ridiculous.
It was truly, truly awful. Enough to be sacked there and then.

I'm ok if he stays because I know how he can very effectively manage a team with goalscorers. I'm also ok if he goes because he can make those diabolical decisions.

Would Klopp be any better? Great when he had great players, not so great when he didn't. Sounds like the German Brendan.

I am dismayed that we are sticking with Rodgers. He's had three years and still doesn't have a defense that works consistently either in terms of personnel or tactics.

The only reason we showed so well last year was because we were so capable of scoring so many goals. The reason we didn't win the title last year was .... defense.

Rodgers just doesn't have the name to attract the quality of players we need. Players look at Liverpool and just don't see any ambition.

We need to ditch Rodgers and appoint one of the few world class managers there are available this summer. But it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

How about this as a possible alternative. Say to Rodgers, this plan isn't working we are going to appoint a DOF. Get in one of the available managers as DOF. It may help attract players. But also, if it becomes apparent that Rodgers isn't working out in the first half of next season, FSG have the option of ditching Rodgers and the DOF steps in as manager. Thoughts? Would this work?

Except even without the great players he has reached a final of their domestic competition

In a 2 team league he reached the last 2 of a competition? I'm impressed

He'll just baffle Mike Gordon with mumbo jumbo nonsense speak at this review anyway

MG: "So how do you feel the season went Brendan"

BR: "We had that wee bit of luck as a group with the Suarez money and the quality was enhanced, certainly in the respect that the group became almost like an inverse group and a half with the additions of Lambert who has quality, Balotelli who brought quality and Lallana who brought that wee bit of quality. He can play in those roles that don't exist behind the 7 1/2 and in front of the 8 1/3 that can make that wee bit of difference (strange hand gestures and seizure like facial expression). Lovren was a warrior in the sense that he did what most other people might not have asked him not to do and Can, who came to us as a midfielder don't forget, and he's young too, was recycled into a defender as I always knew he would be. Young Sterling, sadly, didn't have the quality needed for wing back but young players need coached, not trained like dogs. We've been unlucky in many games that we didn't have any luck in, sure, but there are no easy games these days. "

                MG: ".................."

BR: "Joe Allen, by the way , was again outstanding and many people's player of the season."

                etc

Its still more than Brendan has ever achieved

I dont get the belittling of Rafa & Klopps achievements

They have proven to be infinitely superior managers to Brendan

Theres no ifs buts or maybes about that

                    FLMAO

Admittedly its not quite as impressive as spending £120 million and finishing with 20 points less than last year and 4 places lower

It was a one team league that he made into a 2 team league. He did an absolutely cracking job at Dortmund challenging Munich, losing his best players every year ... whilst Munich strengthened massively every year.

Still not as impressive as finishing 6th after spending £120 million apparently

Do we give any credence to Brendans age? Rafa only just got the Valencia job at about the same age and Klopp only had a year or so at Dortmund by a similar age....So neither of them had glowing CV's at Brendans age?

If Rodgers some how stays on as manager next season, he is absolutely blessed. I will support him if this is the case & hope that he does wonders in the transfer market but I just don't have much confidence left in him at this stage I'm sorry to say.

Maybe, but can we really afford to have a guy that is learning on the job.... so many mistakes this season. How far will we have slipped by the time he gets it right, if he gets it right? I'm just worried that next season nothing will have changed, we'll keep sliding & we'll go the way of great clubs like AC Milan.
