i'm sorry but gerrard has stated on numerous occasions that he feels hodgson should have been given more time at the club. Anyway i doesn't matter how he os with the players, what matters is can he get the most out of that squad, and judging by this season he can't

Last in the league at new year and now in european places and in a cup final this season, two times winner of the league, constantly in the second round of the CL.

he took over when they were nearly bankrupt, losing his best players year after year and having a net spend the size of a 5 year-olds allowance.

    i for one am impressed

Gerrard is no sage on managers - he wanted Curbishley after Houllier and was in favour of booting Rafa for that cunt Hodgson. The fact he speaks highly of the current clown only says a lot

Are we not allowed to mentione Klopp got Dortmund to a Champs League final, signed up the likes of Lewandowski, Hummels, Bender, Reus (or was at least at the club at the time pedants).

The guy has a track record.

Would you make a similar excuse for Roberto Martinez as he is younger than Brendan (although he has won a trophy)??

Get some goalscorers in and let's start soaring.
We said the same last summer though, and in more confident mood than this too, it's the fact we keep failing in what looks to be the most simple of requirements when it comes to signing players, ie, sign them for a position they excel in, and play them in that position.

Feels horribly to me like we're signing players in positions that are not a priority, or we're signing young players we have little intention of using, with a view to the future or maybe even selling on at profit, when everything is falling down in the present.

To be fair so has Brendan

He finished 13th with Watford avoiding relegation

He got sacked after 6 months by Reading leaving them one place above the relegation zone

Still he got Swansea promoted and then finished mid-table in the Premier League.

Not sure. He's got a few years under his belt now. Watford, Reading, Swansea and now us. And with us he's had over 120 games, 2 European campaigns and 3 shots at all the domestic cups.

Not sure learning on the job or inexperience is still applicable to Rodgers. He's has ample time to get the hang of ****.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

They won't sack him unless we drop out of the European places altogether. He'll continue to stay and peddle out the line that 5th is where we're at, while the top 4 get stronger.

I suspect that depending on the FFP rules being relaxed, FSG will keep things settled until Anfield has been redeveloped, and then sell up. They'll keep things stable and project an image of stability with potential to grow while in footballing terms, we'd be stagnating. Meanwhile, Rodgers and co will focus on bringing in the best of the rest i.e. Benteke, Ings, and try to break into the top 4 then, occasionally succeeding. Unless Rodgers leaves of his own accord, if FSG don't sack him this summer, then I can't see them doing so until they leave. It's a deliberate dumbing down of expectations, until we eventually accept the alleged Arsenal model. How do we know these young players will turn out great? We're hoping for a future which may never come.

my preference would be if Klopp/Ancelotti were interested I would say not.

But then f FSG wanted a proven winner would they have not employed one to start with

He's staying. May as well get used to it and get behind him. He needs to deliver early in the season so that there's something there for us all to get behind though.

First of all he's got a huge summer to deal with - 7-8 players leaving so we need to either replace or rely on youngsters coming through and loan returnees. There's also the Sterling issue to sort out. Then we need a settled style of play and start signing players to fit the system, rather than the square pegs in round holes of this season.

Sounds like Rodgers is the ideal man to deal with all that then....
