He go's on and on about 'this great club' and 'what it means to be manager', does all the that stuff very well, but sometimes... i really get the feeling it's just all flannel.

Can't shake it either, i just see flannel and sales pitch.

Brendan Rodgers: Liverpool manager not worried over future

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says he is not worried about his position following his side's stuttering start to the season.

The Reds have won just once in five Premier League games going into Sunday's Merseyside derby against rivals Everton at Goodison Park.

Liverpool are ninth in the league - four places and a point behind Everton.

"I'll always work the best I can. But I'm not seeking any reassurances," said Rodgers when talking about his job.

"It's not something I'm worried about," he added.

Everton came back from 2-0 down to beat West Brom 3-2 on Monday in the league and, although there little separating the teams going into the derby, Rodgers has been under increasing pressure.

The Reds boss added: "Everton have done well. They are a point ahead of us. They've had a good start and we've had a disaster."

Liverpool drew 1-1 at home to Swiss side FC Sion in the Europa League on Thursday. And one of their only two wins in the last eight games in all competitions came during penalties against League Two side Carlisle in the Capital One Cup.

"We are back into that flow of creating chances," said Rodgers. "We go to Everton with confidence.

"There is no greater pressure than what I've had before. We are five points off the top. The players and I are very calm."

Tick tock tick tock he just don't give a f** - I get the feeling he's got to the point where he knows the bullet is inevitable but he'll get a multi million pound pay off for his failure anyway

Personally I would take de Boer off that list. This isn't a job for a young manager who is still discovering his own identity. We have done that and its gotten us nowhere.

We need someone who is proven and who knows exactly the sort of football they want their teams to play. Another bad appointment and in 3 years we will be Everton.

Any new manager? Do you have confidence that the right manager will come in and work within this structure? I'm more worried that we're going to get taken for another 3 years of a new doctrine.
                  Are we winning?

Yeah, pretty much. We might actually employ someone with a coherent strategy who gives a vague impression of knowing what the **** they're doing.

daniel sturridge could potentially save his job for him....

I said it when we saw the fixture list and i still maintain it - but if we are within 10 points of top spot on christmas day, then i think we can have a real go in the second half of the season.

However, i think September was a car crash. After the Arsenal draw, we should now be joint top of the league. Brendan's comments "we're 5 points off top spot" are so ****in stupid. We've played 7 ****in games you clown. Those 5 points were lost to West Ham and Norwich - at home. So 5 points dropped against top spot every 7 games equates to 27 points over a season. How is that good??? Oh and guess what, the team who are 5 points ahead of us aren't exactly ****in brilliant either....

It is the same with his stupid comments about "losing less games than Chelsea"......we are Liverpool. We should be concentrating on Liverpool.....not essentially saying it's okay to be ****e because Chelsea are ****e too. ****in clown....

                          Comment

and if september is a car-crash, then October's fixtures have the look of the final curtain....

We have the players that could win all 4 of our league games in October. But we have the manager that could lose us all 4.

"Any" is too broad and all encompassing but I think an awful lot of managers would get more out of this than Brendan is

Yes I have confidence that another manager can operate within this structure

Brendan has almost a free hand this summer and hasn't gotten recruitment right so don't think he's been too hampered

A new 3 year project is preferable than this turgid ****e continuing

So true. And with Ancelotti in Manchester early-Nov it'll be a great opportunity to get him in as manager if Oct is as bad as expected.
