Nope, it was the big bad transfer committee that 'forced' its players on him, so he'd have no business claiming credit for 'foundation building'.Originally posted by Fierce View PostIf it's virtually the same squad, then he'd be well within his rights to do so
Though I do like the fact that we'll be doing so well that he'll try and claim credit for it

It's just a forum and has no bearing on anything, but it's crazy how disrespectful people can be. Rodgers deserved to be sacked in the end, but he clearly cared a great deal about the club, its history, and its fans. He was sentimental and saccharine at times, but he was genuinely proud to be our manager and now that he's gone he doesn't deserve the incessant ridicule.

Tomkins often has good points but he is badly in need of an editor. He is his own word enemy. For example in this article, everything fromOriginally posted by RichC View PostIt's rare I slog my way through an entire Tomkins article but that was a decent read and took apart point by point what Ashton was saying.
"I’ve recently had some sympathy for Neil Ashton of The Daily Mail,......Benítez is at Real Madrid now, but he’s not buying the players." can be deleted as it has nothing to add to the point he is trying to make.
The rest of the article is very very good.

I do wonder why I have an opinion on what people I've never met say about someone else I've never met, with the caveat that that person won't ever hear about it anyway; but I don't like to read it eitherI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet
