I don't seed us getting both Alonso and Eriksen, IMO we'd be lucky to get one of them, and we have to spend money elsewhere (centre back)
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Even if LFC put eventually money on the table for Xabi Alonso, I still insist Xabi, who loves LFC, would look for a new/different adventure

I'd be well happy with that. Think it's as strong as any midfield line up in the league. Obviously it's a dream though.

Monaco is of course an option if he is after money. They will be able to pay him more than £200k a week without any problem, even £300k a week wouldn't be a problem.

                  Most probably true.

We've got a lot of money to rake back to balance the books and our defence has to take priority. However, if it was as simple as one or the other in midfield, I would very much like to see Eriksen in a Liverpool shirt.

Why would they offer a 31 year old £300,000 a week, other than because they can?

You'd have to go for Eriksen if it was one or the other IMO just makes better sense in the long term, obviously I am not going to be sensible and I want to see them both here

Priority though in the Summer must be defensive cover after that I'd love to see him back

Maybe they want to win the league?

PSG for example will have to pay around 75% more in taxes(player wages) than Monaco do.

Monaco can offer player after player sky high wages without any problem.

One of Henderson and Shelvey will go. Think Erickssen is our top, top, major, top target.
                            Are we winning?

Isn't there a quote from Xabi about wanting to spend 5 years in England, 5 years in Spain and 5 years in Italy? Or something along those line.

I'd love him back here, bit of a short term fix but very low risk. Just 2 top quality seasons out of him would justify the move and I personally think he has a bit more than that in him, could propel us to CL football.

Ignoring the stance that you believe Alonso is after one last pay-day, why would a club offer him £220k more than what he is getting now to make him the highest paid footballer in the *WORLD*, when he is naturally coming to the end of his footballing career?

Yes, I understand Monaco can pay it and yes, they probably have aspirations to win the league, but it negates any common sense whatsoever. Not sure why PSG have been brought in to our chat?

I think you're taking Balague's opinion that 'Alonso wants a new challenge' to the extreme. Maybe he will end up in France, perhaps he could extend his career in Milan where they have something special in the water - but I guess it won't be for astronomical wages.
