He needs a break anyway so this may do him so good, looks ****ed but being that man that he is he is still managing to pull out the goods.

Hopefully some of the other will step up to the plate and start showing some responsibility in his place.

Bascombe saying it's looking like a month out. One more central midfield injury and it'll be a formation change as we'll be out of competent central midfielders. Allen/Lucas/Hendo have to perform now in this upcoming stretch.

Not sure how everyone seems to know - Rodgers said he would be assessed today.

If true it's a major blow IMO. Never quite understood the criticism Gerrard recieved this season just because he has been re-schooled. He has been crucial to our play this season, setting up breakaways, having had good movement and small passing.

And we really have little able to step up now. We are to thin in midfield.

Id liked to have seen him out for a game or so to see how Allen/Henderson/Lucas did. But its pretty clear we are stronger with him in the side. So from that perspective its a blow. Especially going into this month.
                *Except Michael, who died.

So Sturridge and Gerrard out for the crucial run of fixtures. Wait for Hodgson to come out and kick us in the nuts again

Just realised my 6 week figure was from a daily mail article which contains no quotes and only mentions 6 weeks in the headline, so more than likely total ****e

I know some are going to disagree but I feel Rogers is partial responsible for this in the fact he has not managed Gerrard correctly and played him for 90 mins when there was no need to play him for the whole game. When he gets back from injury Rogers needs to either use him for 60 mins ish or as an impact sub.

I disagree. Gerrard's picked up an injury, it happens.

Still our best midfielder, the best we have at the club. Should not be an impact sub and can totally understand why he plays 90 mins.

Think we're really going to struggle without him

Definitely a blow for this season. I do think it could be long term benefit though. He has in many ways shielded a lot of our other players from having to take responsibility. A period with him out could be the making of players like Lucas, Allen or Henderson.

One of the big questions will be who will take set pieces, Gerrard has looked very good this season at whipping the ball in from all sorts of places.

I agree. He's not far off 34. Needs to be managed better.

It happens especially when 33 year olds play three games in 7 days. There was no need to pick him on Saturday. Should've had a rest.

I think Coutinho will take some more now, he has been there for the occasional corner and freekick in to the box. Suarez looks very good on direct free kicks, so got that covered.

Alternative is Henderson that did quite a few corners last season IIRC.
