It really did cost the game - it was headed for a 0-0. They had nothing to offer going forward and had no ambition to leave themselves exposed.

Its a sickener for Steven, but I'd say he's in enough credit to be the player who makes a mistake like that.

Still love the guy. Must be absolutely gutted. But will always be a legend

Ultimately, if it plays out the way you would think now, no-one will regret it more than Gerrard himself.
We knew it'd be twice as hard if we fell a goal behind , but I don't believe he'll be happy with how he conducted himself in the second half though. Far too impatient and wilful.

the long passes from deep have helped launch a few quick counter attacks but im not so sure this will be as useful against the better premiership teams or in europe.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think we need a brand new world class HM - regardless of Gerrards ability in that position. Thoughts?

I'm shocked that you reappear in Gerrard's thread. Who'd have thunk it?

Gerrard is a deep lying playmaker now, we need a DM- a stopper and short passer to tighten the defence up (think Mascherano). Then we can push Gerrard up slightly, and replace Allen.

Darling - If you read what I wrote in this thread about Gerrard early on I was spot on...simple as that...He lost the ability to play a real part on the final third - I just saw it before most of you here. Sorry. Moving him back was logical and brilliant. I love Gerrard.

Go hunt a which somewhere elses...

No. Because a world class player would replace Gerrard, and if last season is anything to go by, there isn't a player in world football that could do that

I would like to see a more defensively minded player that could play alongside/as well as Gerrard, or in his place for certain games given the amount we'll be playing next season

But a world class player would be a guaranteed starter, and I personally feel that Gerrard should remain first choice there, and that we should play the same formation that served us so well this year

So. Mascherano for decent money, but not a big enough number to mean he HAS to start

To be honest babe, I thought you'd have been logging in to this thread as soon as his studs slipped the turf against Chelsea. I could understand if your opinion of Gerrard was posted alongside other nuggets on these forums, but you come in here, parp some nonsense about Gerrard and disappear quicker than a fart in the wind.

Can I take you on a guided tour around the other threads Est1892 has to offer?
