Alright, I know England didn't technically play a 4-4-2, but Hodgson is as stubborn, if he was ever going to change it would have been with us not now. Yup, the right formation with this set of players could have done ok at this world cup instead we've taken a formation and decided to fit our "best 11" into it regardless.
It's so obvious to most how we should have set up in the tournament with a back 4, Gerrard sitting deep, Henderson & Lallana/Barkley playing in front of him Sterling at the tip of the diamond with Sturridge and Rooney up top.
