It could well be connected to the groin infection and "hidden" somewhere in his system. It then flares up every now and again.

I'm hardly panicing, just seems strange that he's had two infections recently when it is something you rarely hear about footballers getting.

I got an infected ankle a few years back. It took me months to recover enough to go back to work, and I lost mobility in my ankle permanently, and could no longer play football.
