Hmmmm, I just don't see the benefit of pretending or keeping it shy if the club and Stevie know more than we do (well obviously they do, but you know what I mean). If they think he can make a full recovery then I'll happily go along with that until it's proven otherwise.

I didnt mean he wouldnt be the same player - i mean i think his career is done.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostYeah can't disagree. Not "finished" but we've certainly seen the best of him and I imagine he'll have to adapt his game a bit. I think the rampaging Stevie of old is a thing of the past. Hope not obviously, but he's not been properly fit for ages now.
I dont mean the club know he's finished and are keeping it quiet - i dont think they've reached that point yet. But i just dont personally think there's any real future there. I obviously hope i'm wrong.Originally posted by RedReet View PostHmmmm, I just don't see the benefit of pretending or keeping it shy if the club and Stevie know more than we do (well obviously they do, but you know what I mean). think I mentioned earlier on in the thread, my mate was at Evertons training ground and he was talking to one of the Physio's there who said the same thing.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe're not doctors are we?
Something's very clearly not right with SG and i think he's done. Just my opinion._____________________________________

I know mate, it's a grim thought.Originally posted by Tee View PostHe still has an Indian Summer in him... do not even want to contemplate Stevie G being finished...

Can see where Craig is coming from and I think I might've posted something similar a while back.
Gerrard has carried the team for goodness knows how long, he's picking up long-term injuries (and has been for the last few years), and this most recent one is very bizarre. I'm by no means an expert when it comes to footballing fitness issues, but he had problems when he first broke into the team and I think wear and tear has caught up with him.
Hope I'm wrong and we get another three years out of him, but I just can't see it.

His last injuries have been infections in two different parts of the body (groin & ankle)Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe're not doctors are we?

The "infections" side of things needs looking at BUT I think its nonsense to suggest he has a specific injury that will cause him to have constant problemsBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I'd like to hear the reasoning behind thisOriginally posted by red g View Postthink I mentioned earlier on in the thread, my mate was at Evertons training ground and he was talking to one of the Physio's there who said the same thing.
Hes had two infections in two different parts of the body
The only common theme is "infection"Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Playing so many times with pain injections down the years was always going to catch up with him. It's just not good long term to be doing that, far too much wear and tear that shouldn't have been ignored.
I don't think he'll ever get back to the level when he was at his best. Hopefully he still has a few years in him of decent football tho, Stevie G playing decently is still better then most out there & a huge asset.
It speaks volumes about how well Kenny has done when Stevie has hardly featured under him.
